Types of NEET Merit List 2024

There are three types of NEET 2024 merit list and all of them are prepared by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC)/ DMER. The NEET merit list 2024 will comprise final positions secured by the candidates in the entrance exam. All the types of NEET merit list 2024 are explained below:

All India NEET-UG 2024 Merit List

AIQ NEET Merit List 2024
The All India NEET-UG merit list for 2024 is a comprehensive compilation that features the names of all candidates who took part in the NEET 2024 entrance examination. This list serves to explicitly indicate the overall positions attained by each candidate, irrespective of their qualifying status or their state of origin. Its purpose is to ensure that every candidate who participated in the exam is duly recognized and accounted for in the merit list, regardless of their success in meeting the qualifying criteria or their state of residence.

AIQ NEET Merit List 2024 for Non-Jammu & Kashmir Candidates:

The AIQ (All India Quota) NEET 2024 merit list is inclusive of candidates who have successfully cleared the NEET 2024 examination and are not residents of Jammu & Kashmir. Additionally, candidates from the state of Jammu & Kashmir who completed the declaration form during the NEET 2024 application process will also find their names in this merit list. Important Note on Counselling: Candidates featured in the AIQ NEET 2024 merit list will be subject to counselling administered by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) rather than the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

NEET 2024 State Merit List: The counselling conducting authorities for each state and union territory will prepare their respective NEET 2024 merit lists based on the All India Rank achieved by candidates in the NEET 2024 exam. Inclusion in the state NEET 2024 merit list depends on two primary factors:

State/Union Territory of Examination: This factor considers the candidate's appearance for the NEET UG 2024 exam from a specific State or Union Territory.

State/Union Territory of 12th Completion: The candidate's completion of 12th grade education from a State or Union Territory, as mentioned in the NEET 2024 application form, also plays a role in their eligibility for the state merit list.

NEET Merit List 2024: Tie-Breaking Policy

In the event of two or more candidates achieving the same marks in the entrance exam, the NEET All India Merit List 2024 will be prepared using the following tie-breaking criteria. It's noteworthy that this year, the age criteria and application form number, which were used as a last resort previously, have been eliminated.

1. Preference will be given to the candidate with higher marks in Biology.
2. If the tie persists, the candidate with higher marks in Chemistry will be prioritized.
3. The candidate with higher marks in Physics will be assigned a higher rank.
4. If the tie still remains, the candidate with a lower ratio of attempted incorrect and correct answers will be prioritized in the rank list.
5. Subsequently, the candidate with a lower ratio of attempted incorrect and correct answers in Biology will be given priority.
6. If the tie persists further, the candidate with a lower ratio of attempted incorrect and correct answers in Chemistry will be prioritized.
7. Lastly, the candidate with a lower ratio of attempted incorrect and correct answers in Physics will be given priority in the rank list.
