SNAP 2017 Eligibility Criteria

It is important for you to know SNAP Eligibility Criteria 2017 before you apply for the exam. SNAP (short for Symbiosis National Aptitude Test) is administered on a national-level by Symbiosis International University, Pune for admission of aspirants in various management courses.

Candidates willing to appear for SNAP must check the eligibility criteria before registering for the exam, as candidates who do not meet the SNAP Eligibility Criteria 2017 will not be allowed to take the entrance exam. Candidates must also check the eligibility conditions laid down by the participating institutes.

SNAP Eligibility Criteria provides detailed information about:

  • Age limit
  • Educational qualifications
  • Domicile norms

Following is the detailed eligibility criteria:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a recognised University/Institute, with at least 50% of aggregate marks is mandatory.
  • For candidates under SC/ ST category, a minimum of 45% of aggregate marks is required for Graduation.
  • Full-time 4-year Bachelor Degree course from a recognised University with at least 50% marks in Graduation is needed for Engineering candidates.
  • Final year students may also apply for admission, but they must obtain a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination.
  • Specific eligibility conditions apply for admission to different programmes, so candidates must cross-check the eligibility for courses of their choice.
  • Candidates having degrees from foreign universities must be verified from AIU to take admission into various management courses.
  • In any case, if the candidate does not fulfill the eligibility criteria, then the university holds all the rights to cancel his/her application.

SNAP Reservation Policy 2017:

As per UGC guidelines, below is the reservation policy which is abided by Symbiosis International University and other affiliated Institutes.

For Scheduled Castes 15%
For Scheduled Tribe 7.5%
For Person with Disabilities 3%
For Kashmiri Migrants 2 seats (per programme)
For International Candidates 15%

FAQs

1. I have done my graduation through a private university. Can I still apply? 

The university should be approved by AICTE / UGC. Also, it should be registered under AIU.

2. What is the eligibility criteria for writing SNAP Online Entrance Test?

Graduate from any recognized / statutory University or Institute with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST).A candidate who has completed a qualifying degree from any Foreign University must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). All foreign degrees/ qualifications need to be verified from AIU by the candidate before seeking admission to any programme of SIU.

3. Can I take the SNAP Online Test 2017 and still apply for MA(MC)? 

No, you can’t. The SNAP test is valid only for MBA programme. Admission to MA(MC) programme is ONLY through SIMC MA (MC) online entrance test scheduled for second week of January.
