The XAT syllabus 2025 comprises Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, Verbal & Logical Ability, Decision Making, and General Knowledge. It assesses candidates’ aptitude in mathematical skills, understanding and use of English language, reasoning capabilities, decision-making skills, and their awareness of current affairs and general knowledge, preparing them for management studies and careers.

XAT Syllabus 2025

As per the latest changes incorporated by XLRI, the XAT syllabus 2025 will now have four sections: Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning, Decision Making, and General Knowledge. VALR combines Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension, and Logical Reasoning. The Decision Making section has no specific syllabus, and the questions focus on the candidate's presence of mind and analytical skills. The QA & DI section includes basic mathematical topics and data interpretation questions, while the GK section contains questions on current affairs and conventional GK (trivia).

The Essay Writing section has been removed and will now be part of the XLRI selection process. Candidates appearing in the XAT exam should be well aware of the topics under the XAT Syllabus 2025. Only after knowing all the topics in the XAT syllabus 2025 can the candidates chalk out a timetable for preparation. XAT 2025 will be conducted on January 5, 2025, from 2 PM to 5:30 PM by XLRI Jamshedpur. XLRI made certain changes to the XAT syllabus in 2025 to keep up with the changing times. Take a look at the list of changes incorporated in the XAT exam this year.

  • The XAT 2025 syllabus has been reduced to 4 sections.

  • Subjective and descriptive questions, such as the Essay Writing section, have been eliminated for XAT 2025.

  • Analytical Essay Writing will now be part of the XLRI selection process in 2025.

  • The question paper will include 95 MCQ-type questions.

  • The total marks will be 95.

The XAT syllabus 2025 for Verbal & Logical Ability includes Reading Comprehension, Fill in the Blanks, Antonyms/Synonyms, Jumbled Paragraphs, Contextual Usage of Vocabulary, Correction of Errors in Sentences, Word Usage, Sentence Completion, and Paragraph Completion. There will be 26 questions in the VA section of XAT 2025 and each question will be Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) type. 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer and 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
