In order to ensure that the final scores give an accurate depiction of a candidate's performance in the exam, NMIMS applies a normalization process before calculating the final score of a candidate. The normalization process ensures that any differences in the difficulty level of the exam are accounted for when calculating the final results.
The final score calculated after normalization can be used for a fair comparison of a candidate's performance with other applicants of the exam. The rank of a candidate and the total number of candidates who have appeared for the NMIMS NPAT exam are required in order to apply normalization to the final results of the exam. After the results of NMIMS NPAT exam have been released, the institute will also release different merit lists for respective courses. The merit list will be created based on the performance of the candidates in the exam. Candidates whose names appear in the merit list will be invited to appear for the NMIMS Counselling process as per the counselling schedule released by the institute. The Admit Card and Score Card of a candidate will be required to appear for the counselling process. Based on the counselling, candidates will be allocated seats in their selected courses. If any seats are left vacant after allocation of seats to the candidates in the 1st merit list, the next merit list will be released by the institute. At most, 3 merit lists will be released for admission to NMIMS.
