UCEED 2019 Counselling Process

IIT Bombay will conduct UCEED 2019 counselling procedure for admission to 4- year bachelor degree of design programme. The registration process for UCEED 2019 counselling procedure will commence from 8th June 2019 onwards. On the basis of the announcement of UCEED 2019 result, the first allotment list will be released on the official website. The seat allotment will be conducted in two phases - based on the number of seats available after the first round, the second round of the UCEED 2019 counselling will be conducted.

After candidates complete the registration process, applicants need to take part in three seat allotment rounds in order to secure admission in B.Des programmes. The counselling process for UCEED is conducted for the UCEED qualified candidates. These candidates are allowed to apply for B.Des counselling process for IIT Bombay, IIITDM Jabalpur, IIT Guwahati. Candidates usually get admission form from the official website of IIT Bombay.  

The shortlisted candidates are asked to fill their choices of institutes in the UCEED admission form. The UCEED admission form has to be submitted after the payment of admission fees. Detailed instructions are given below for filling the UCEED admission form. The admission fees for UCEED 2019 is Rs. 1000 /-.

UCEED 2019 Eligibility Criteria for Counselling Process and Seat Allocation

Candidates will have to meet the requisite eligibility criteria releated to UCEED seat allotment 2019.

Step 1: Age limit:

  • Candidate should have been born on or after October 1, 1994, if they are belonging to the Open or OBC-NCL category and if they are belonging to the SC, ST or PwD category then they have to be born on or after October 1, 1989.

Step 2: UCEED Qualification:

  • Candidates who have successfully qualified UCEED 2019 and have obtained a rank, they will be eligible to take part in seat allotment of UCEED 2019.

Step 3: Qualifying Examination:

  • Candidates can go through the details related to UCEED qualifying exam in the UCEED 2019 Eligibility Criteria section.

  • Candidates should have passed the qualifying exam i.e class 12 or equivalent in 2018 or 2019. Those candidates who took the class 12 in 2017 or before, they will not be eligible to participate in counselling or seat allotment.

  • Candidates from the Science Stream with PCM group as subjects are eligible to apply to all the four institutes. While, candidates from any other stream i.e Science without PCM group, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities are eligible to apply to IIT Bombay, IIT Hyderabad and IIITDM Jabalpur.

  • Candidates who will appear in the qualifying exam in 2019 must ensure that all parts of the final exam are finished by the date of registration with respect to the admitting institute and they have to submit the proof of their qualifying exam by 30th September 2019.

Note: If the qualifying exam board merely awards only letter grades and does not mention anything about the passing grade on the grade sheet, then in such a case, candidates will then have to get a certificate from the Board in which the passing grade has to be mentioned. The same document will have to be uploaded along with the grade sheet. 

UCEED 2019 Counselling Procedure

Selection for admission into Bachelor of Design (B. Des) programmes offered at IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, and IIITDM Jabalpur is done on the basis of the rank secured in the merit list of UCEED. It is important for the candidates to know that the procedure followed for the counselling process remains the same for all the rounds of seat allotment. Check out the procedure that has to be carried out during the counselling process.

Registration Process:

  • Candidates have to fill in the online application form by logging in the IIT Bombay’s official website.

Login in UCEED 2019 Registration form:

  • Candidates have to log in with a valid ID and Password to get the application form for the counselling process which was created at the time of filling the UCEED 2019 application form

  • Next, they have to enter the details asked and cross-check the entered detail.

Uploading the Documents:

  • In this step, they have to attach their scanned documents like the scanned signature, UCEED marksheet, photograph, other educational documents, caste certificates (SC/ST/OBC-NCL Certificate, PwD Certificate and OCI/PIO Card), etc.
  • After completing the uplading of documents, the next step is to click on the 'Submit' tab.

Payment of Fees :

  • Now, candidates will have to pay the registration fee of INR1000 after completing all the details.

  • The registration fee for UCEED 2019 counselling can be paid through online mode i.e net banking, debit card, credit card.

Submit the application form :

  • After filling all the information and paying the requisite fee, candidates will have to click on the submit button

  • Candidates will have to take the printout of the registration form of seat allotment for UCEED 2019.

UCEED 2019 Seat Allotment 2019 Process

Once the candidates have successfully registered, the seat allotment process will take place into in 3 rounds. UCEED 2019 seat allotment will take place on the basis of rank, category, and choice.

The shortlisted candidates will be sent provisional allotment letters by their registered email. They have to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee of INR 60,000 and OBC-NCL and INR 15,000/- for SC/ST/PwD through the online mode.

The joint seat allotment will be governed by the following rules:

  • If the shortlisted candidates do not submit the seat acceptance fee before the scheduled time limit or they decline the admission, then their application will be cancelled. These vacant seats will be filled later seat allotment rounds.

  • If the candidates accept their first choice of the institute, the candidate has two options either accept the choice which maens freeze the seat or decline the offer.

  • If the candidate is allotted their 2nd or 3rd choice of the institute, then the candidate has the options to either accept the choice or accept with the option which could be considered for upward movement i.e ‘float’ the choice for later rounds, if any, at the time of joint seat allocation.

    • In the ‘freezing’ option, candidates accept the offer that indicates they do not want to participate in further rounds of seat allocation. Such candidates will not be considered in later rounds of admission procedure.

    • In the ‘floating’ option, candidates accept the offered seat and indicate that, if admission to an institute of their higher preference is offered, then they will accept otherwise they will continue to study in the institute where they are already studying. These candidates will be given the option to participate in other rounds of admission.

  • For candidates who choose the ‘float’ option, the allotment of a seat in their higher priority institute will automatically result in the forfeiture of the seat accepted by their in the earlier round.

  • Candidates offered seats are required to pay seat acceptance fee only once. Thus, the candidates who are allotted another seat because they opted the ‘float’ option, they will not have to pay seat acceptance fee again.

  • For candidates who accept offered seat, the seat acceptance fee will be adjusted against the admission fee of an institute at the time of joining. 

  • For candidates who decline/reject the offered seat after remitting the seat acceptance fee, the refund will be governed by the policies of the admitting institute.

  • If a candidate has paid the fee for the seat acceptance and chooses to withdrawal during the end of first round or before the end of second round, then they will get the complete refund after deducting the processing charges of INR 1500/–

  • After the announcement of the final round of seat allocation, candidates do not have the option to withdraw an approved/allotted seat.

Document Verification:

  • Documents attached with the counselling form are checked at the counselling center.

  • Candidates have to carry all the original documents at the counselling venue.

  • They must also carry a set of photocopies of all the relevant documents.

  • After the document verification, shortlisted candidates have to move for the next procedure initiated by the concerned authority.

Documents Required

The supporting documents needed for the application are:

  • Digital copies of Photograph and Signature.

  • UCEED Score Card

  • Photocopies of Qualifying Examination Mark Sheet (Class XII or equivalent and Class X)

  • Photocopies of OBC-NCL/SC/ST Certificate, PwD Certificate, and OCI/PIO Card.
