UCEED Counselling Process 2026 Overview

The UCEED counselling process 2026 registration will be started by IIT Bombay through a Joint Admission Procedure in March 2026. There will be five rounds for seat allocation. Seat allotment will be done based on All India Rank, Category Reservation, and Availability within particular institutes. Once the seat is allotted, the seats need to be confirmed by paying the seat acceptance fee. During UCEED 2026 exam, the seat acceptance fee will be INR 60,000 for open categories and INR 15,000 in the case of SC, ST, and PwD. In case the fee is not paid within the stipulated time, the candidature will be cancelled, and that seat will be offered to the next eligible candidate in order of merit.

Students who get a spot in the UCEED 2026 merit list are eligible for counselling. You are required to log in to the UCEED 2026 result portal to check whether you are qualified or not. There are three stages in the UCEED 2026 counselling procedure: submission of B.Des admission application form, Allotment of seats / Acceptance and Payment of acceptance fee, and post-seat allotment options. The documents required for B.Des application include a signed copy of the first page of the completed application form, UCEED 2026 scorecard, qualifying exam (Class 12 or equivalent) mark sheet, photo, signature, etc. You will get registered by paying a counselling fee of INR 4,000 along with personal information and listing institutes in order of preference.

UCEED 2026 Counselling Important Dates

IIT Bombay releases the dates for the UCEED counselling process 2026 on their official website, uceed.iitb.ac.in. If you have passed the entrance exam, you can begin registering for UCEED counselling from March 2026. The application process for BDes Programmes at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur (Participating Institutes) will be kept open from March 14, 2026 (Saturday), 10:00 Hrs till April 10, 2026 (Friday), 17:30 Hrs.

UCEED Counselling Process 2026 Eligibility Criteria

The UCEED 2026 eligibility criteria are the key for the students who are looking to attend UCEED counselling 2026. The students must meet and fulfil the eligibility criteria as directed below. To be part of the UCEED 2026 counselling process and seat allotment, the students have to take care of two important aspects. 

Age Limit

• For candidates in the General, EWS, and OBC-NCL categories, the birth date should be on or after October 1, 1999. 
• For those in the SC, ST, and PwD categories, the candidate must be born on or after October 1, 1994.

UCEED 2026 Qualification

• The candidate must have successfully qualified in UCEED 2026, meaning they must have achieved a rank in UCEED 2026.

Qualifying Examination

• The candidate must have passed all five subjects in 10+2 or an equivalent exam in 2023 or 2026. Those who appeared in the qualifying examination for the first time in 2022 or earlier are NOT eligible.
• Candidates from the Science Stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are eligible to apply to ALL the five participating institutes.
• Candidates from any other stream (Science without Mathematics or Physics or Chemistry, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities) are eligible to apply to IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, and IIT Hyderabad.
• For admission to BDes at IIITDM Jabalpur, only students with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology at 10+2 are eligible.
• Students from Arts or Humanities at 10+2 are not eligible to apply for BDes admissions at IIITDM Jabalpur.

For those appearing in the qualifying exam in 2026:

• Make sure all parts of your final examination are completed by the date of application for admission.
• Submit proof of having passed the qualifying examination with the required eligibility by September 30, 2023, to the admitting institute.

Regarding passing grades:

• If your qualifying Examination Board awards only letter grades without indicating the passing grade on the grade sheet:
  • Obtain a certificate from the Board specifying the passing grade.
  • Upload the certificate along with the grade sheet.
• If the Board does not provide such a certificate, the decision of the UCI Committee will be final.

UCEED 2026 Counselling Procedure

The students can register to participate in the UCEED 2026 counselling process and seat allotment if they have cleared the entrance examination of UCEED and obtained a rank for design-related courses offered by the participating institutes. The students will be granted admission to the UCEED participating colleges in 2026 through the counselling session. Step 1- Registration

The students must visit the official website to register for the UCEED counselling process 2026 and seat allotment.

Step 2- Login Credentials

The students can log in by entering the user and password that they have created while filling out the UCEED 2026  application form. If the students forget their login credentials, then they can log in to the IIT Bombay external User Registration Portal and reset their password. 

Step 3 - Fill out the UCEED 2026 registration

The students will then have to fill in all the personal details as required and can select the institutes according to their preferences. 

Step 4 – Upload the documents

The students must upload all the essential documents as per the specifications mentioned in the UCEED 2026 brochure. The important documents that need to be uploaded are-

Step 5- Make the Payment

To complete the application form for UCEED 2026, the students will have to pay Rs. 2000 as an application fee after providing all the details. The students can pay the registration fee for UCEED 2026 online through net banking, debit card, or credit card.

Step 6- Submit the application form

Step 7- Print the Registration Form

• Digital copies of Photograph and Signature.

• UCEED Score Card

• Photocopies of Qualifying Examination Mark Sheet (Class XII or equivalent and Class X)

• Photocopies of OBC-NCL/SC/ST Certificate, PwD Certificate, and OCI/PIO Card.

UCEED Seat Acceptance Fee 2026

Rules and Regulations for UCEED Counselling 2026

The students must adhere to the significant rules and regulations as laid down by the exam conducting body. The guidelines related to the UCEED counselling process 2026 are mentioned below for the reference of the students:

• Seat Acceptance and Rejection: All the short-listed candidates will have to click on either 'Accept' or 'Reject' against the allotted seat before the last date. Failure to do so will amount to the cancellation of candidature. The vacant seat thus available will be allotted, in order of rank, to other students in subsequent rounds.
• Admission Choices: The candidate has the choice of either selecting the provided institute or rejecting it. If selected, then the candidates must pay their seat acceptance fee immediately.
• Freezing or Floating Options: In the event of a student getting a second or third choice of an institute, he/ she has the facility to freeze the chosen option or click on 'float'. Floating will allow movement upwards in the subsequent rounds. The selection of 'freeze' by a student implies that the candidate is sure about the allotted institute and does not want to take part in subsequent rounds of counselling.
• Fee Refund and Adjustments: The acceptance fee of the candidates who accept the seat will be adjusted for the overall fees at the time of joining the institute. The fee will be returned in case the admission is not taken, respectively, as per the rules of the institute. Students are also entitled to a complete refund minus the sum of INR 3,000/- as processing charges if they withdraw by the end of the first round or even before the second round gets over. No refund will be available after the last round of counselling since the floating option is no longer valid.

Reporting to the Allotted Institute and Document Verification of UCEED 2026

The students will have to report to the allotted institute to get their documents verified and complete the process of admission after the successful completion of the UCEED 2026 counselling and seat allotment session 2026. The allotted institute can cancel the admission of the students if the institute authorities find any incorrect information that has been furnished by the students during the entire admission process.
