Steps to Follow for IIT JAM Choice Filling Process 2026

Following the release of IIT JAM 2026 Result, candidates will begin filling out the application form for their admissions, through which IIT JAM 2026 Choice Fillings will be completed. Candidates can follow the steps provided here to complete IIT JAM Choice Filling Process:

Step1: Take a look at the courses that IIT JAM offers. Make sure the programs you choose fit your interests because each IIT and IISc offers a different selection.

Step 2: Confirm that you meet the eligibility requirements for the courses for which you wish to apply. There may be specific requirements for each program.

Step 3: List every course you are considering taking. Consider aspects such as interest, potential for the future, and the reputation of the institute when ranking them according to your preference.

Step 4: Enter your login information (password and registration number) to access the official IIT JAM counselling portal.

Step 5: Make your choices as you complete the IIT JAM admissions application. Enter your preferred courses in order of priority. To avoid making mistakes, make sure you understand the course codes clearly.

Step 6: Please double-check your choices before submitting. Ensure that the order reflects your actual preferences.

Important Pointers for IIT JAM 2026 Choice Filling Process

• A nonrefundable application fee of INR 750/-must be paid online at jam2026.iitb.ac.in in order to submit an application for admission.
• JAM 2026 Merit List only candidates will be able to submit an application for admission. It doesn't matter if a candidate is on the merit list for one or two test papers—only one properly filled Application Form needs to be sent.
• Using the information provided during the JAM Examination application process (or, corrected subsequent to the exam), the Application Form in the admission portal will be pre-filled with (i) name, (ii) category, (iii) date of birth, (iv) gender, (v) PwD Status, (vi) parent's/guardian's name, (vii) mobile number, (viii) email id, (ix) photograph, (x) signature, (xi) Category certificate, and (xii) Physical Disability Certificate.
• Before the admissions process begins, candidates are asked to confirm the information on the candidate portal and to get in touch with the organising institute if there are any discrepancies.
• A Candidate may apply to one or more academic programs covered by the Test Paper(s) they qualify for, provided they meet the MEQs and ERs of the admitting institution (s).
• During the application process, the candidate must select all programs they wish to be admitted to, in the order that they are most interested in.
• After the application deadline, candidates will not be able to alter their selections or preferences.
