IIT JAM 2020 Participating Colleges

Every year, the Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) is organised by one of these Institutes – Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and Indian Institutes of Technology (Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Bhubaneswar, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Indore, Jodhpur, Patna, Ropar, Varanasi, Bhilai, Dhanbad, Palakkad or Roorkee). It may be noted that IIT Varanasi, IIT Bhilai, and IIT Palakkad have been added to the list of IIT JAM 2020 participating institutes. The list of participating colleges for IIT JAM 2020 will be released by IIT Kanpur which is the conducting body for next year's examination. In order to become eligible for admission in any of the participating colleges, candidates will be required to qualify the IIT JAM examination.

A total of 18 IITs, 1 IISC and 17 CFTIs (15 NITs, IIEST Shibpur and SLIET Punjab) accept JAM scores for M.Sc admissions. After the announcement of the IIT JAM 2020 Result and IIT JAM 2020 Cut-off list, a separate counselling is conducted for IIT JAM 2020 participating colleges. However, for admission in CFTIs – NITs, IISERs, IIEST Shibpur and SLIET Punjab, a centralised counselling is held for M.Sc/ M.Sc (Tech) Admissions (CCMN).

How to Provide College Choices During Form Filling

  • Visit the official website of IIT JAM 2020.

  • You can also select more than one college/institute as per your choice in the application form.

  • You must lock your selected choices by clicking on the ‘Submit’ tab.

  • Cross-check the form twice before clicking on the 'Submit' button.

Important Points to Remember

Below are some important points that candidates should know about the participating colleges/institutes of IIT JAM 2020:

  • Before selecting the participating institutes/colleges, candidates must go through their detailed information such as eligibility norms, placement, year of establishment and other relevant facilities offered to students.

  • The selection of candidates for admission in the shortlisted college/institute will be solely based on the marks obtained by the candidates.

  • Once the document verification and seat allotment process is done, there will be no change in college or course.

  • It is important for candidates to know the cut-off marks and the final selection procedure of the institution where they wish to study.

IIT JAM Seat Matrix 2020

Candidates preparing for IIT JAM 2020 which is scheduled to be conducted on 9th February 2020 must be well aware of the seat matrix of IIT JAM 2020. The participating institutes of IIT JAM 2020 will specify the seats of IIT JAM 2020. In each course, there are a certain number of seats that are reserved for different categories of candidates. The seat matrix of IIT JAM 2020 refers to the number of the vacant seats which will be made available category-wise to the candidates who will be seeking admission in different IITs and IISc, Bangalore.

It must be noted by the candidates that the IIT JAM 2020 seats will be made available to the candidates who belong to reserved categories i.e SC/ST/PWD/OBC and for the unreserved categories (General). Additionally, the candidates belonging to the different categories other than the General category will be provided seats in IIT JAM 2020 only if they provide the caste certificates along with the other requisite documents. On the basis of the cut- off and the counselling procedures conducted by the participating IIT JAMs and IISc, Bangalore, candidates will be offered IIT JAM 2020 seats.
