SNAP 2023 Selection Process

As part of the SNAP 2023 selection process, the SNAP participating colleges follow two steps after the exam is conducted. While taking the SNAP 2023 exam is the first step, the next step is appearing for either Group Exercise (GE), Writing Ability Test (WAT), or Personal Interaction (PI) round. Candidates who meet the SNAP cutoff for their chosen SNAP participating institutes are selected for further rounds of admission. The SNAP 2023 was administered in three different sessions. Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 3 of the SNAP 2023 exams were successfully concluded on December 10, 17, and 22, 2023. The SNAP 2023 result has been announced on January 10, 2024.The shortlist of candidates qualifying for the PI round will be released in the first week of February 2024 and the selection process will commence in the third week of February 2024. Seat allotment is done based on a merit list. Candidates will also have the option to withdraw from the counselling process if they choose to do so during the SNAP selection process 2023.

SNAP 2023 Selection Process: Key Highlights

Below are the key highlights of the SNAP Selection Process 2023:

  • Candidates must specify their preferred MBA courses and SIU institutes during the SNAP 2023 registration process.
  • A fee of INR 1,000 per SIU institute they wish to apply must be paid by candidates during SNAP registration cum application.
  • Application to SIU institutes will not be possible after SNAP registration 2023 closes.
  • Each SIU institute conducts the SNAP admission process separately for each program.
  • Invitations for the Group Exercise, Personal Interaction, and Writing Ability Test will be based on SNAP cutoffs set for that specific academic year.
  • SIU institutes will establish admission cutoffs individually, guided by their unique admission requirements and parameters.
  • Depending on their overall SNAP 2023 cutoff percentile, candidates may be shortlisted for multiple programs. In such cases, they must participate in the selection process for each course separately.

Step-Wise SNAP 2023 Selection Process

The SNAP 2023 shortlisting process for the MBA batch of 2023 will involve Group Exercise, Personal Interaction, and Writing Ability Test for candidates who qualify for the SNAP exam. Candidates meeting the minimum SNAP cutoff percentile set by the institutes will be eligible for these selection stages. To participate in Group Exercises, Personal Interaction, and Writing Ability Tests, candidates must complete an online application on the website of the institutes they selected during SNAP registration. If shortlisted, they will receive notifications about the schedule and venue via email. Below is a stepwise explanation of the SNAP 2023 selection process.

Step 1: Appear for SNAP 2023.

Step 2: Appear for the GEPIWAT round. Candidates scoring the minimum SNAP 2023 cut-off will be eligible for the selection process.

The SNAP selection process will begin soon after the SNAP results are announced. It is expected that selections will begin in the last week of January 2022. Registration will be required for the GEPIWAT process as well. Candidates will have to fill out the registration form for the selection rounds to be invited. Each of the selection rounds of SNAP 2023 has been explained in more detail below.

Group Exercise (GE)

  • It is a process of screening the candidates on the basis of their ability as well as their skills.

  • In this round, a topic allocated to a group of candidates to discuss among themselves for 15-20 minutes.

  • They are divided into groups and each group is given two case studies.

Personal Interaction (PI)

  • The objective of organizing a personal interview is to analyze the responses of a candidate, their interpersonal, soft skills, confidence, and thought clarity.

  • The interviewer can ask questions based on the details you filled in Annexure and other information based on the academic qualifications of the candidates.

Written Ability Test (WAT)

  • Written Ability Test is a pen and paper exam. It can also be called an Essay Writing Test. It is basically designed to test the knowledge of applicants and richness of content written by him.

Attendance at Group Exercise, Personal Interaction, and Writing Ability Test is mandatory for admission eligibility. Candidates who fail to participate in the selection rounds will be considered ineligible for the SNAP admission process for any of SIU's MBA programs.

SNAP 2023 Merit List

The SNAP Merit List is generated by SIU once all of the selection rounds have been conducted. The overall performance of a candidate in SNAP and GEPIWAT is considered when creating the final merit list. Different weightage is assigned to each parameter, which is used in calculating their final score. Based on the availability of seats, SIU releases the admission list of various colleges. Candidates are invited to finalise admission in the college. A waitlist is also released by the university. Candidates who names appear on the waitlist are given an offer of admission if a seat becomes available.
