TANCET Cutoff 2020

TANCET 2020 cutoff will be prepared by the conducting body Anna University, Chennai on behalf of Government of Tamil Nadu after the TANCET 2020 results are declared in the month of June 2020. Candidates fulfilling the TANCET 2020 cutoff criteria will be eligible for admissions into courses like MBA/MCA/ME/M.Arch/M.Tech.

A merit list will be prepared by the concerned authorities based on the candidate’s performance in TANCET 2020 entrance exam. Candidates securing good marks in the entrance exam will have a higher chance of getting admission in their desired course and college they fancy. The conducting body will release the TANCET 2020 cutoff list for each course and category separately.

After the university releases the cut-off list for TANCET 2020, the shortlisted candidates will be called up for TANCET 2020 counselling on the basis of rank secured in the entrance examination. The shortlisted candidates will be notified about the counselling process via counselling call letter. The candidates need to be present for the counselling accompanied by all their original documents. TANCET 2020 is scheduled to be held in the month of February, 2020 for the candidates seeking admissions in distinguished courses like MBA, MCA, ME, M.Arch, M.Plan and M.Tech in Tamil Nadu state.

Factors Determining TANCET 2020 Cutoff

There are various factors that will be considered while determining the cutoff for TANCET. The cutoff of TANCET will be calculated on the basis of the following factors:

  • The number of candidates appearing for the test

  • The number of available seats for the admission under TANCET

  • The difficulty level of the TANCET exam

  • The normalized TANCET score

  • Previous cut-offs for different branches

  • The average marks scored in TANCET

TANCET 2020 Normalized Score

Candidates must note that by using the following formula that has been mentioned below, the normalized score of TANCET is calculated from the raw scores (marks obtained in TANCET):

Normalized Score: 40 + (10/S) (R– M)

Where S is Standard Deviation,

R is Raw Marks (Total marks obtained from all the 3 sections) and 

M stands for Mean Marks (Total marks from all the sections divided by 3)

Previous Years’ Cut off of TANCET (Category-Wise)

Once after the result of TANCET is declared, the authority will release the category-wise cut off for TANCET and GATE qualified candidates. The TANCET cutoff will vary each year and will be different for different categories. With the help of the TANCET cutoff, candidates can know their chances of taking admission. Therefore, it is mandatory for the candidates to score more than or equal to the cut-off marks.
