The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) has released the WBJEE eligibility criteria 2024 at wbjeeb.nic.in. As per the WBJEE academic criteria, candidates must satisfy the following conditions -

  • Candidate must have passed 10+2 (or equivalent) from a recognized State/Central Board 

  • Candidates must have qualified in Mathematics and Physics, and any one of Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science/Computer Application/Biotechnology as compulsory subjects in the qualifying exam.

  • The candidate must have been a permanent resident of West Bengal for 10 consecutive years as of December 31, 2024.

  • Candidates whose parents are permanent residents of the state and have a permanent residential address can also apply for the exam.

  • Candidates aspiring for admission to Government Colleges/Jadavpur University must be permanent residents of West Bengal. Students from other states are not eligible for admission to Government Engineering/Pharmacy colleges located in West Bengal.

WBJEE Domicile Certificate - Points to Remember 

  • The WBJEE 2024 domicile certificate is mandatory for all candidates. However, applicants without a valid certificate shall be permitted to apply for a limited number of seats.

  • Applicants who may have applied for domicile seats but are unable to submit the certificate shall be disqualified

WBJEE Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech

The WBJEE 2024 eligibility criteria for engineering admission to B.Tech colleges are as follows -

Rule 1:  The aspirants must have passed Class 12th in West Bengal with Physics and Mathematics as major subjects and Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational Subject/ Computer Application/ Computer Science/ Biology/ Biotechnology as the third subject. Only such students are eligible for the engineering stream exam of WBJEE.

Rule 2: The candidates must have passed Class 12th with a minimum of 45% of marks. However, the 45% minimum marks criteria in Class 12th is only applicable to the General Category. For reserved categories such as SC/ ST/ PwD/ OBC-A/ OBC-B, the minimum qualifying mark is 40%.

Rule 3: The candidates must have passed English in Class 12th with a minimum of 30% of marks.

Candidates who do not satisfy any of the above-mentioned eligibility norms are not eligible to appear for the entrance exam. 

WBJEE 2024 Eligibility Criteria for Marine Engineering

Candidates applying for BTech in Marine Engineering must meet the following criteria to be eligible for admission to the participating institutes -

Rule 1: Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board/Council

Rule 2: Candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as core subjects in the 12th Grade

Rule 3: Applicants must have obtained minimum aggregate marks of 60% in PCM with pass marks in each of the compulsory subjects

Rule 4: Candidates must have obtained at least 50% marks in English in 10th or 12th Class

Eligibility Criteria for WBJEE 2024 - B. Pharma

The eligibility criteria for B.Pharma admission through WBJEE can be checked below -

Rule 1: The aspirants must have passed Class 12th with Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics or Biology as the compulsory subjects.

Rule 2: The candidates must have passed Class 12th in the above subjects with a minimum of 45% of marks. However, the qualifying mark for reserved categories is 40%.

Rule 3: The applicants must have passed English as one of the subjects in Class 12th, and the minimum mark required in the respective subject is 30%.

Rule 4: NIOS Students are also eligible to appear for the WBJEE exam

WBJEE 2024 Eligibility Criteria for B.Arch

The eligibility criteria for B.Arch admission through WBJEE are as follows -

Rule 1: The applicants must have passed Class 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the compulsory subjects.

Rule 2: The applicants must have a minimum of 50% of marks in Class 12th in the above subjects to be eligible for the admission process.

Rule 3: The applicants must have a valid score/ rank in NATA or JEE Main Paper 2 exam.

Jadavpur University(Faculty of Engineering & Technology)

All available programmes including B. Pharma and except the five-year degree Architecture programme

Pass 10+2 or equivalent Examination with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry as mandatory subjects with at least 60% (45% for reserved category candidates) marks in all the three subjects taken together, individual passing marks (both in practical and theory wherever applicable) in each of the subjects and in English, with at least 30 % marks.

West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences

B. Tech (Dairy Technology) programme

Candidate necessarily has passed the 10+2 standard examination with  Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry and as important subjects with individual pass marks (in both practical and theory wherever applicable) in all the three subjects as above stated in regular Class mode.

Candidate necessarily has gained at least 50% marks (40% in case of reserved category students) in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and English, taken together.

The Board of the Qualifying Examination must be recognized by the  State Government or Central Government concerned.

Neotia University

All B. Tech programmes except Marine Engineering

Pass 10+2 standard or equivalent Exam with Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics, as compulsory subjects with at least 60% marks in the above three subjects taken together.

B.Tech (Marine Engineering)
