WBJJEE 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Before filling the WBJEE 2018 form, it is advised that candidates should fulfill the WBJEE 2018 Eligibility Criteria. Those who fail to meet the WBJEE 2018 Eligibility Criteria, will not be able to participate in the WBJEE 2018 Admission Process. Those who meet the WBJEE 2018 eligibility criteria will get the WBJEE 2018 Admit Cards and will be allowed to take the examination.

Check the eligibility criteria defined by the Board for admission listed below

Nationality: Candidate should be an Indian citizen to be eligible to apply for WBJEE 2018.

Age Criteria:

  • Candidates who appear for WBJEE exam to get admission in Pharmacy, Engineering/Technology (other than Marine Engineering), and Architecture course should be of at least 17 years of age as on December 31, 2018. There is no upper age limit for WBJEE 2018. A Candidate born on or after January 1, 2000, is not applicable to appear in the WBJEE-2018.
  • Candidates who appear for the WBJEE 2018 exam to get admission in Marine Engineering programme she be of least 17 years of age or above as on December 31, 2018 and must not be above 25 years of age as on December 31, 2018 as per guidelines of authority.

For appearing in both Paper I and II:

  • Candidate must have passed the passed the 10+2 examination with Mathematics and Physics along with any one of Biotechnology/ Chemistry/Biology/Computer Application/Computer Science as mandatory subjects with individual pass marks (in both practical and theory wherever applicable) in all the three subjects as stated above in regular class mode.
  • Candidate must have secured at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in all the three subjects taken together.
  • Candidate must have passed English in the 10+2 standard examination with at least 30% marks.
  • The Board of the passed Qualifying Examination must be affiliated with the State or Central Government Government concerned.

   For appearing in Paper II:

  • Candidates necessarily have passed 10+2 examination with Chemistry and Physics along with any one of Mathematics/Biology / Biotechnology / Biology/ Computer Application/ Computer Science as mandatory subjects with individual passing marks (in both practical and theory wherever applicable) in all the three subjects as above stated in regular class mode.
  • Candidates must have to get at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates related to reserved category) in all the three chosen subjects taken together.
  • Candidates necessarily have passed English in the 10+2 examination with at least 30% marks.
  • The Board of the passed Qualifying Exams must be identified by the State Government or Central Government concerned.

Note: A candidate appearing for 10+2 Standard Examination in 2018 may appear in the WBJEE-2018 but shall not be eligible for allotment of the seat for WBJEE admission if they do not pass the 10+2 exam with the required minimum standard of eligibility criteria as above stated.

Institute-wise Eligibility Criteria:

The institute wise academic eligibility criteria for WBJEE 2018 is given below:

University of Calcutta

Except ‘Jute & Fibre Technology’, all Programmes are available

Candidate should Pass 10+2 or equivalent Exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, as mandatory subjects with at least 60% (55% for candidates of Reserve Category) marks in all the above subjects taken together, individual pass marks (both in practical and theory where ever applicable) in each subject and in English it will be at least 30 % marks.

Jute & Fibre Technology programme

 

Candidate should Pass ‘10+2 or equivalent Examination with Mathematics and Physics along with any one of Biology/ Biotechnology/ Chemistry as compulsory subjects with at least 45% (40% for Reserved Category Candidates) marks in all the three chosen subjects taken together, individual pass marks (both in Practical & theory where ever applicable) in each of the subjects and with at least 30 % marks in English.

Jadavpur University(Faculty of Engineering & Technology)

All available programmes including B. Pharma and except the five Year degree Architecture programme

 

Pass 10+2 or equivalent Examination with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry as mandatory subjects with at least 60% (45% for reserved category candidates) marks in all the three subjects taken together, individual passing marks (both in practical and theory wherever applicable) in each of the subjects and in English, with at least 30 % marks.

West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences

 

B. Tech (Dairy Technology) programme

 

Candidate necessarily has passed the 10+2 standard examination with  Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry and as important subjects with individual pass marks (in both practical and theory wherever applicable) in all the three subjects as above stated in regular Class mode.

Candidate necessarily has gained at least 50% marks (40% in case of reserved category students) in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and English taken together.

The Board of the Qualifying Examination must be recognized by the  State Government or Central Government concerned.

Neotia University

All B. Tech programmes except Marine Engineering

Pass 10+2 standard or equivalent Exam with Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics, as compulsory subjects with at least 60% marks in the above three subjects taken together.

B.Tech (Marine Engineering)

Candidate must pass 10+2 standard exam or equivalent Exam with  Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects with at least 60% marks in the above three subjects taken together and at least in English it must be 50%.
