GATE 2023 examination consisted of a total 65 questions and the examination was conducted for 100 words. Further the questions were divided into 3 categories including Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ’s), Multiple Select Questions (MCQ’s) and Numerical Answer Type  Questions (NAT). GATE 2023 examination was conducted as Computer Based Test (CBT) on February 4, 5,11 and 12, 2023 by IIT Kanpur. The overall difficulty level of the GATE 2023 question paper was moderate, with a mix of direct and conceptual questions. CSE was considered to be the most challenging subject, while ME was on the easier side. Chemistry was generally balanced in terms of difficulty level. Where can I find the GATE 2023 question papers?

What is the marking scheme for the GATE 2023 question paper?

The marking scheme for GATE 2024 differed slightly based on the question type. For MCQ, one mark was awarded for a correct answer and minus 1/3 mark was deducted for a wrong answer. For two-mark MCQs, two marks were awarded for a correct answer, and minus 2/3 mark was deducted for a wrong answer. For NATs, no negative marking was applied.

What is the format of the GATE 2023 question paper?

The format of the GATE 2023 question paper varied slightly depending on the specific subject, but generally followed a common structure. All GATE 2023 papers comprised a total of 65 questions. The paper was divided into two sections: General Aptitude (GA): This section contained 10 questions carrying 15% of the total marks (15 marks) and Core Subjects: This section contained 55 questions carrying 85% of the total marks (85 marks There were two types of questions in both sections MCQ and NAT.

The highest weightage topics for in GATE 2023 CS question paper included Data Structures & Algorithms, Programming Languages, Operating Systems, Computer Networks, and Theory of Computation.

What is the weightage for GATE 2023 question paper?

As per GATE 2023 general trends across subjects, Engineering Mathematics carried a moderate weightage of around 12-15%. Important topics included Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and Numerical Methods. General Aptitude carried a weightage of 15% across most subjects. There was more focus on Verbal Ability, Numerical Ability, and Engineering Mathematics in this section.
