The IIT JAM registration fee 2026 is for one test paper is INR 1000 for Female/SC/ST/PwD candidates, and INR 1350 for two test papers. Likewise, for General/OBC category candidates, the application fee is INR 2000 for one paper and INR 2700 for two papers.

Students will be required to first register on the official JOAPS website (JAM Online Application Processing System). After they have been registered, they should use the enrollment number and OTP sent to their registered email ID and mobile number to fill out the IIT JAM 2026 application form. IIT JAM 2026 Registration Process

The first step to filling out the IIT JAM application form is registration on JOAPS 2026 (JAM Online Application Processing System). Candidates need to register themselves on the JOAPS website online. The steps to make the registration are given below:

• Go to the official website- jam2026.iitb.ac.in
• Click on the JOAPS link available on the screen or Click on the candidate portal available on  the screen 
• The registration form will appear on the screen 

• Fill out the personal details like name, email address, mobile number
• Create a password for the candidate’s login 
• Confirm the password 
• Answer the arithmetic equation as CAPTCHA code
• Click on the ‘check-in’ box
• Click on the ‘Submit’ button
• Verify the mobile number and email ID and move forward with the IIT JAM application form 

Note: After submitting the IIT JAM registration form, the candidate will receive an OTP on the registered mobile number & email ID to verify the mobile number& email ID for further communication. Candidates are advised to provide an active mobile number to apply for the IIT JAM exam.

Steps to Fill IIT JAM 2026 Application Form

Step 1: Fill out the exam details in the application form like the name of the test paper(s). Candidates who want to appear for the two test papers must ensure that both papers are conducted in two different shifts.

IIT JAM 2026 Application Form: Document Specification

Students need to take care when uploading documents in their IIT JAM Application form 2026. IIT Bombay has provided certain specifications for uploading photographs, signatures, and other documents. 

For Photos:

• Photographs should be up to a maximum size of 480*640 pixels
• The width should be 3.5cm*4.5 cm
• It should be in a JPG or JPEG format
• The photo should be taken on a white background only

For signature:

• The maximum size of signature should be 160*560
• Use black or blue ink for signature
• The signature should be clear as blurred ones can face rejection
• Capital letters should not be used in signature
• Use clean white paper for signature

IIT Bombay is expected to open the application form correction window for the IIT JAM 2026 exam applicants a few days after the deadline to apply. Students can change their examination cities /test papers /category /gender. They can also upload a valid OBC-NCL/EWS certificate, if applicable. 

Those who wish to make changes to their IIT JAM 2026 application form have to pay Rs. 300, in addition to the application fee difference. If a student entered their category, gender, exam city, or date of birth wrong, they can correct it by paying an extra fee of Rs. 300.
