GATE 2018 Result

IIT Guwahati announced GATE result 2018 on 16th March, 2018. The result was scheduled to be announced on 17th March, 2018 but it was declared a day in advance. Candidates who appeared for GATE 2018 will be able to download their GATE scorecard from 20th March, 2018 by logging into GATE Online Application Process System (GOAPS). In order to access GATE 2018 scorecard, candidates will have to enter their login credentials - GATE 2018 Registration ID, Enrolment Number, and Date of Birth.

Conducted on a national-level, GATE is for those who are willing to take admission in M.Tech./M.E./Ph.D programmes offered at the IITs, IISc and other institutes of higher education in India. Candidates must note that GATE scorecard features the total marks scored by them in the entrance exam. Additionally, GATE scorecard is issued only to those candidates who qualify the exam.

How to View GATE Result 2018

GATE Result 2018 can be downloaded by following the steps given below.

  • Visit the GATE Online Application Process System (GOAPS) website.

  • Enter your details – GATE 2018 Enrolment Number/Email Address and Password to login

  • GATE 2018 scorecard will be displayed on the screen.

  • Download and take a print out of the GATE 2018 scorecard.

GATE Scorecard 2018

GATE 2018 Scorecard displays the overall marks scored by the candidates in the exam. Candidates who successfully qualify in GATE 2018 would be able to download their respective scorecards online from 20th March, 2018. Candidates must note that the hard copy of the GATE 2018 scorecard is not issued by the examining body, therefore, qualified candidates must download and print their scorecard for further use.

Note: GATE 2018 scorecard is an important document and the validity of GATE score is three years.

GATE Cut-off 2018

The GATE 2018 cut-off determines the total score that a candidate must secure in order to apply for Ph.D./M.E./M.Tech in top universities of India. Qualified candidates who successfully meet the cut-off list of GATE can also apply for jobs in PSUs such as ONGC, BHEL, GAIL, SAIL. Along with GATE Results 2018, the cut-offs for GATE 2018 have been declared too.

Factors Determining GATE Cut-off 2018

During the preparation process of GATE 2018 cut-off, following factors are taken into consideration:

  • Total number of applicants

  • Difficulty level of the questions

  • Number of seats offered for each M.Tech course

  • Previous Year Cut-off Trends


1. For how many years GATE scorecard is valid?

GATE scorecard is valid for 3 years.

2. Can I use my GATE scorecard against PSUs recruitment? If yes, then until what year?

Yes, you can use your GATE scorecard against PSUs recruitment. Almost all PSUs accept GATE scorecard of the current year recruitment.
