MAT 2021 Cut Off

MAT Cut Off is the minimum score required by a candidate to get admission in an MBA college in India. Every MAT 2021 participating college release their own MAT 2021 Cutoff for the shortlisting of candidates for their MBA and PGDM courses. AIMS, the conducting body of MAT, does not have any role in deciding the cutoff marks for MAT 2021. Some colleges consider MAT percentiles for MBA admission while others provide admissions based on MAT scores. Candidates may also be required to clear sectional cutoffs for MAT if their college requires. If a college offers multiple management courses, The MAT 2021 Cutoff will be specified individually for every course. Candidates must carefully check the requirements to find the colleges that fit their MAT 2021 Score and Percentile.

MAT 2021 is conducted by AIMS four times per year – in February, May, September, and December. The participating institutes of MAT release the MAT 2021 cutoff after the results have been declared. Candidates who have filled the application form for respective colleges accepting MAT 2021 scores will have to check whether they have qualified the cutoff marks or not. Those who have cleared the cutoff will be invited to participate in the MAT 2021 Selection Process of individual colleges. Candidates need to secure the minimum MAT 2021 cutoff marks to get shortlisted for the selection rounds such as group discussion (GD), personal interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT). The cutoff will be different for each round and will vary with the category of candidates and institutions.

MAT cut-off composite scores are applicable on almost all MBA colleges/institutes that offer admission in management courses with MAT 2021 (February) cut-offs. Generally, the MAT cut-offs go-between 70 to 80+ percentile. With the help of MAT cut-off 2021, candidates get a more realistic idea of where all they can apply for admission.

After the MAT 2021 scores are declared, the eligible candidates have to undergo a selection procedure which is unique for each MAT 2021 participating college. The MAT 2021 selection procedure is Institute-specific where some Institutes offer direct admission to the students on the basis of their MAT 2021 scores whereas some of the top B-Schools in India shortlist the students on the basis of their MAT 2021 result followed by a series of selection rounds.

After the cutoff for MAT 2021 is released, the candidates have to go through the following pre-admission stages for those Institutes which shortlist the candidates on the basis of their MAT 2021 scores and some additional factors such as:

  1. Group Discussion

  2. Personal Interview

  3. Written Ability Test

Most of the colleges nowadays give more weightage to the Written Ability Test round which helps them identify if the candidates are worthy enough to be allocated a seat in their desired colleges.
