MAT 2024 IBT (Remote Proctored Internet Based Test)

The MAT 2024 February session IBT mode examination has been slated for three dates: February 24, March 3, and March 8, 2024. The All India Management Association (AIMA) introduced a new form of taking the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) in 2020. It is called the MAT Remote Proctored Internet-Based Test (IBT). Through the MAT IBT mode, candidates can take admission to the MAT participating colleges offering MBA and PGDM courses. An applicant needs to acquire a good MAT score in the exam as there are plenty of MBA colleges that accept the MAT score.

.NET Framework

Version 4.5.1 or higher

Memory

65 MB of permanent free space on the default drive

MSB is a tool to ensure that the online exam will be conducted securely. When the MAT IBT starts, MSB will take the following actions:

  • Close all running background applications that are not required such as internet browsers, skype, etc.
  • Will only allow candidates to move out of the application after the test has finished.

Therefore, candidates will lose control of their laptop/computer for the duration of the test. This is done to make sure that there is no use of unfair means or interruption during the test.

FAQs

How is MAT IBT different from MAT CBT?

Since the MAT CBT and MAT IBT exam modes are similar to each other in a lot of ways, candidates are known to be confused about the difference between the two. The MAT CBT exam is a computer-based test in which the applicant must take the MAT exam on a computer. The computers assigned to the applicants in the test center would be used to complete the exam. On the other hand, MAT IBT (Internet-Based Test) is taken at the luxury of a candidate’s home, where they can access the MAT exam by taking the necessary steps.

Why should I appear for the MAT IBT exam?

One of the biggest advantages of taking the MAT IBT test is the freedom and convenience to take the test from any place and any device (Supported Devices Only). Also, social distancing standards will be upheld, protecting the candidate's health's safety, because candidates won't need to physically show up at the testing location to take the exam and will instead be proctored and invigilated by the proctoring authority through their live video and audio stream. Thus, if candidates have all the necessary requirements for MAT IBT, like a good internet connection and a supported device, the MAT IBT exam is an ideal choice.

Can I appear for MAT IBT using a Macbook?

No, a Macbook cannot be used to appear for the MAT IBT exam. Since MacOS is not supported for MAT IBT, any devices that run this operating system will not be eligible for taking the MAT IBT exam. Only Windows OS (Version 7 and above) is supported when it comes to the MAT IBT exam. Apart from having a Windows device, candidates must also meet other technical requirements like a supported internet browser, network requirements, Memory/hard disk space requirements, etc.

What are the requirements to appear for MAT IBT?

In order to appear for the MAT IBT exam, candidates must meet certain technical requirements for a smooth examination experience. These requirements include:

  • Network: Throughout the exam, candidates must have a reliable internet connection with sufficient speed. If they can easily log into their email accounts, that serves as a proxy for this. Uploading at: 512 kbps is the minimum speed.
  • Supported Browsers: Chrome version 63 and above or Firefox version 52 and above
  • Operating System: WindowsOS (Version 7 and above)
  • Dot NET framework: Dot net framework is required by the MSB application. The minimum supported version is 4.5.1.Net framework
  • Memory/Space: 65 MB of permanent free hard drive space

When will the MAT February 2023 IBT exam be conducted?

MAT 2023 IBT will be conducted in five sessions on February 11, 12, 18, 19, & 25, 2023. MAT IBT will also be conducted on March 5 & 7, 2023.
