The MAT 2026 selection procedure is Institute-specific where some Institutes offer direct admission to the students on the basis of their MAT 2026 scores whereas some of the top B-Schools in India shortlist the students on the basis of their MAT 2026 result followed by a series of selection rounds.

After the cutoff for MAT 2026 is released, the candidates have to go through the following pre-admission stages for those Institutes which shortlist the candidates on the basis of their MAT 2026 scores and some additional factors such as:

  1. Group Discussion

  2. Personal Interview

  3. Written Ability Test

Most of the colleges nowadays give more weightage to the Written Ability Test round which helps them identify if the candidates are worthy enough to be allocated a seat in their desired colleges.
