As per the eligibility criteria of NIMCET 2026 exam, candidates must possess Indian nationality and have completed a minimum three-year full-time degree in BSc/BSc (Hons)/BCA/BIT from a recognized university, with Mathematics, Statistics, or an equivalent subject included. For eligibility, general category candidates should have secured at least 60% marks or a 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale in their qualifying degree, while SC/ST category candidates must have a minimum of 55% marks or a 6.0 CGPA. Additionally, students who will be appearing for the qualifying examination during the admission year are also eligible, as well as candidates with a BE/BTech qualification.

Candidates having a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Bachelor of Technology degree or equivalent from a recognized University can apply for the entrance exam
The candidate should have cleared B.Sc./B.Sc. (Hons)/BCA/BIT/B.Voc. (Computer Science/ Computer Applications)/BBA (Computer Applications) under the 10+2+3 pattern with Mathematics/Statistics as a subject provided the course is approved by AICTE/UGC and Distance Education Council (DEC) of Govt. of India.
Candidates who are taking the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for NIMCET 2025 but must provide proof of candidature (in the form of a certificate issued by the Head of the institution where the candidate is studying/has studied) for examinations taking place during the academic year 2026-27.
General and OBC candidates should have scored at least 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA scores in aggregate in all the subjects
Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) category candidates are required to score at least 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale in aggregate in all the subjects

The percentages of marks/CGPA in the qualifying degree are to be determined based on the marks/grade points acquired in all courses studied over all years, including languages, optional and supplementary subjects studied if any. The aggregate of marks/grade points obtained in all topics across all years determined using this technique alone will be evaluated by NIMCET to determine eligibility.
Conversion of scored marks from CGPA to percentage and vice versa is banned when computing the minimum need of marks
