In this article, we have provided a proper JEE Main and BITSAT preparation strategy with a detailed analysis of the syllabus, exam pattern, and marking of both exams.

Before diving into the details of how to prepare for both the JEE Main and BITSAT exams let's go through the brief about both examinations, like what pursue exam is conducted, admission is given into which institutes, who conducts the exam, etc.

What is JEE Main Exam?

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the Joint Entrance Examination (Main), also known as JEE Main, to shortlist candidates for admission to  BTech, BArch, and BPlan courses at the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs). JEE Main is also the qualifying test for the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced), which is used to get admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Every year, the National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the test in different sessions. The test is given in 13 languages and is given in all states of India as well as various countries outside of India.

What is BITSAT Exam?

BITS Pilani administers the Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test at the national level. Every year, BITSAT is organized to give admission to B.E., B.Pharm, M.Sc, and other courses offered at BITS campuses. Every year, around 3 lakh applicants take the BITSAT. The BITSAT 2023 exam is likely to be conducted in two sessions.

JEE Main and BITSAT Exam Pattern

If you are appearing for both the examination you must go through the exam pattern of JEE Main and BITSAT to check the similarities and differences between them and prepare accordingly for the exam.

JEE Main Exam Pattern

The exam pattern of JEE Main was recently updated by the National Testing Agency, and numerical response questions (questions with no alternatives and the numerical value of the answer must be typed in the input field using an on-screen keyboard) were added to the test. Go through the details of JEE Main exam pattern given below.

  • JEE Main consists of a total of 90 questions, with students having three hours to complete 75 of them.

  • The JEE Main consists of three subjects namely Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics

  • JEE Main has two parts for each topic. Section 1 has 20 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), whereas Section 2 has 10 Numerical Response Questions (NRQs), only 5 of which must be attempted

Marking Scheme:

  • MCQs: Each correct answer is worth four marks, whereas each incorrect answer will deduct 1 mark. You will receive no marks for questions you do not attempt

  • Questions with numerical value answers: You will receive four marks for each correct answer, and one mark will be subtracted for each incorrect answer. You will receive no marks for questions they do not attempt

BITSAT Exam Pattern

The BITSAT exam pattern includes the same subjects as JEE Main like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with English proficiency and logical reasoning as extra subjects. The authorities also provide the option to attempt bonus questions that might help me score the rank in the exam. Check the BITSAT exam pattern given below.

  • The BITSAT is a three-hour exam with 150 questions.

  • The paper is divided into four sections namely Physics, Chemistry, English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning, Biology or mathematics

  • For the last section of the BITSAT exam, students must select between Biology and Mathematics

  • There are 40 questions in Physics, 40 questions in Chemistry, 10 questions on Logical Reasoning, 15 questions on English Proficiency, and 45 questions in Math or Biology

  • The BITSAT exam also has 12 bonus questions

  • These extra questions are only available after the applicant has completed all 150 questions

  • If you choose the bonus questions, he or she cannot change his or her answers to the first 150 questions

  • There is no additional time allotted for answering the bonus questions

  • Almost all students who aspire to score 350 or better on the BITSAT, required for a seat in Computer Science at any of the BITS – attempt the 12 bonus questions. These 12 extra questions are available only once you have finished the main section

  • Each subject has four extra questions: physics, chemistry, math, and biology

If you want to score 350 or better on the BITSAT  required for a seat in Computer Science at any of the BITS you should attempt the 12 bonus questions. These 12 extra questions are available only once you have finished the main section
