About JEE Main 2026

JEE Main session 2 exam 2026 answer key has been released on April 11, 2026. You can access your answer key by logging in with the help of your application number and password. The challenge window closed on April  13, 2026. The challenge window was available from April 11-13, 2026. During the challenge window, you could raise objections against the JEE Main 2026 answer key. A few days after reviewing all the challenges, NTA will be releasing the final answer key. You won't be allowed to challenge the final key. The JEE Main session 2 exam was ongoing from April 2 - April 8, 2026. The exam result will be announced on April 20, 2026. Based on the JEE Main 2026 result for Session 2, the merit list for the counselling session will be announced soon.

Reportedly, over 16 lakh students have registered to appear for the April 2026 session exam, of which 2.05 lakh are new candidates. The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Main) is conducted twice annually in CBT mode, with full marks accounting for 300. Students qualifying for the JEE Main 2026 exam will be eligible for admission across IIIT, GFTI, and NIT. The top 2,50,000 candidates in the merit list are eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced 2026 exam. JEE Main 2026 Session 2 result will likely be announced by April 20 2026, in online mode. The JEE Main 2026 Session 1 was conducted from January 21, 22, 23, 24, 28 (for Paper 1) and January 29 (for Paper 2). JEE Main 2026 Eligibility Criteria

To appear for the JEE Main exam 2026, candidates have to meet the eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria are prescribed age limit, educational qualification, nationality, etc. Check the overview of the JEE Main eligibility criteria 2026 below:

  • Must have qualified higher secondary (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or appear in the final year of 10+2 
  • There is no upper age limit to appear for the JEE Main exam
  • Candidates can only appear for the exam three times consecutively after appearing for the higher secondary year
  • There are no marks eligibility to appear for the NTA JEE Mains exam; however, to get admission to the IITs, NITs, and other top engineering colleges in India, one has to secure 75% marks or be in the top 20% of the qualified candidates

JEE Main 2026 Answer Key

NTA released the JEE Main answer key session 2 tentatively on April 11, 2026, on its official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. The answer key is released in two steps. First, the JEE Main provisional answer key is released. And then the final answer key shall be released after the scrutiny of the objections raised by the JEE Main exam takers. 

JEE Main 2026 Result

JEE Main 2026 result for session 1 has been released on the official website on February 16th, 2026 at 6:15 pm IST. Check the steps to download the JEE Main scorecard below:

Step 1: Go to the official website for the JEE Main 2026: jeemain.nta.nic.in 

Step 2: Click on the JEE Main result link available on the screen 

Step 3: The log-in window will appear on the screen using the application number and date of birth, or password

Step 6: The JEE Main scorecard 2026 will be displayed on the screen
