The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) releases the eligibility criteria for admission to various JEE Main participating colleges. Candidates can check the eligibility details below -
Candidates must have a valid All India Rank to be offered admission to BTech/BArch/B.Planning courses in the IIITs, NITs, and GFTIs
All candidates must have at least 75% marks in the 12th Boards (65% for SC/ST candidates)
B. Arch aspirants must have passed the qualifying examination with at least 50% marks each in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics, and 50% in the total aggregate.
B. Planning candidates must have passed 10+2 or the qualifying exam with at least 50% in Mathematics and 50% in the total aggregate
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority Counselling, or JoSAA Counselling, will be held for both JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2026 qualified applicants seeking admission to IITs and NITs system BTech/ BArch/ BPlanning programmes. Counselling will be provided for 114 academic institutes in India, including 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs, and 38 Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs).
The counselling process of JEE Main 2026 is conducted based on the All India Rank (AIR) in the JEE Main test. The JEE Mains counselling procedure will be completed entirely online. Some of the private institutes that offer admission to candidates based on JEE Main scores are Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, etc.
The states involved in the admission through JEE Main 2024 scores as they do not conduct any separate entrance exams are Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, Chandigarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh.
The National University of Singapore is the only institute outside India that accepts JEE Main scores.
