How to Choose a College
An ideal institute for a candidate would be the one where he/she gets to pursue his/her desired programme and gets the best placement opportunities in the related field. Apart from that, the candidates should keep the following factors in mind while providing college choices.
College's Accreditation and Affiliation: It is very important to choose an institution, which is recognised and accredited. It is not wise to choose an institute indiscriminately based on advertising in newspapers, television, radio or the Internet.
Infrastructure: Candidates must know all about the campus infrastructure such as the condition of the building, power supply, availability of water, libraries, halls, labs, canteen area, the campus area, etc. A decent college should be able to meet all these basic requirements.
Ranking of the College: Before selecting the institutes/colleges, candidates must check the ranking of the institutes/colleges where they wish to apply. Ranking is considered an important determining factor when making college choices.
Faculty at the Institute: To provide the necessary guidance to the students, a team of prestigious, full-time and qualified faculty is necessary. Candidates should also try to find out the ratio between the full-time faculty and the visiting faculty.
Placement Cell: Before deciding on college, candidates should go through the company's profile, placement record details, recruitment areas, average salary and more. Candidates can also check for the highest package offered by the companies and the parameters the companies consider for offering the highest packages.
Structure of Fee: It is an important factor that must be kept in mind while selecting an institute/college. Candidates can compare top-rated institutes/colleges in terms of their fee structure and then choose one as per their needs.
