TISSNET 2019 Eligibility Criteria

TISSNET is conducted by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). Candidates need to check the eligibility criteria of TISSNET MBA 2019 before appearing for TISSNET. As per the TISSNET eligibility criteria, candidates with bachelors degrees across various disciplines from a recognized university are eligible to apply. The application process for TISSNET began on October 30, 2018, and it will go on till December 10, 2018. Forms for the same can be filled online or can be sent to TISS via post. The last date for the application to reach office is by December 12, 2018. The exam is scheduled for January 19, 2019 from 2 pm-3:40 pm and will be conducted online. TISSNET will be conducted at more than 100 test centers across 39 cities in India.

TISSNET 2019 Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates who have completed graduation of minimum three years duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 pattern) are eligible to apply for TISSNET.
  • The candidates who are in the final year of their graduation are eligible to apply. However, they must have passed in all the subjects of the first to the fourth semester (in 3-year degree programme) and first to the sixth semester (in 4-year degree programme).
  • The candidates must have completed their final year Bachelor’s degree programme latest by the first week of June 2019.
  • The final year students will be provided provisional admission. However, such candidates will be required to submit the proof of completing their graduation latest by the end of September 2019. If they fail to do so, their provisional admission will be cancelled.
  • Candidates who have completed their graduation through correspondence can also apply if the Institute / University / College is recognised by UGC/AICTE.

Apart from fulfilling the general TISSNET MBA eligibility criteria, there are certain eligibility parameters for particular subjects which are listed in the table below

DSA – Social Work in Disability Studies and Action

Candidates preferred with a graduate degree in subjects such as  Psychology, Special Education, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Disability rehabilitation, and Speech Therapy. Graduates with minimum 2 years of experience in social welfare will be preferred

HO – Hospital Administration

  • Three years graduate degree in any discipline
  • Candidates in their final year in BA are not eligible
  • Four years graduate degree in paramedical sciences, medicine  or other four years programs such as pharmacy, veterinary engineering, and veterinary sciences

HE – Health Administration

 

  • Completed 3 years graduate degree in any discipline
  • Four years graduate degree in paramedical sciences, medicine, or other programs such as engineering, pharmacy, and veterinary sciences
  • Candidates in their final year in BA are not eligible

PHSE – Public Health in Social Epidemiology

 

  • BA in paramedical, medicine, or other four years programs such as engineering, pharmacy, and veterinary sciences
  • Candidates in their final year in BA are not eligible
  • Master's degree in any discipline

PHHP – Public Health in Health Policy, Economics and Finance

 

  • BA in paramedical, medicine, or other four years programs such as engineering, pharmacy, and veterinary sciences
  • Candidates in their final year in BA are not eligible
  • Master's degree in any discipline

APCP – Applied Psychology with specialisation in Counselling Psychology

        Candidate should have completed:

  •  B.A./ B.Sc. Home Sciences with specialisation in Human/ Child Development
  • B.A. in Psychology
  • B.A. General with a minimum of 3 papers in Psychology  
  • Candidates appearing for their final year B.A. examination with the above subjects and awaiting results are eligible to apply
  • B.A. in Social Work

WS – Women’s Studies, DS – Development Studies, EE – Education (Elementary), MC – Media and Cultural Studies, CCSS – Climate Change and Sustainability Studies, RG – Regulatory Governance, WPG – Water Policy & Governance, DM – Disaster Management

Graduation from any discipline

PHHP – Public Health in Health Policy, Economics, and Finance

 

  • Candidates should have completed their internship on or before June 10, 2018
  • Completed BA in paramedical, medicine or other four-year programs such as veterinary sciences pharmacy, law, and engineering

APCP – Applied Psychology with specialisation in Counselling Psychology

        Candidate should have completed:

  • B.A. in Social Work
  • B.A. General with a minimum of 3 papers in Psychology  
  • Candidates appearing for their final year B.A. examination with the above subjects and awaiting results are also eligible 
  • B.A./ B.Sc. Home Sciences with specialisation in  Human/Child Development

PHSE – Public Health in Social Epidemiology

  • B.A. General, with a minimum of three papers in Psychology

MLIS – Master of Library and Information Science

 

Graduation in any discipline

UPG – Urban Policy & Governance

Graduation in one of the following fields

Management,  Architecture, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Geography, Planning, Geography, Planning, Law or Social Sciences, and interested in habitat-related issues

ATJ – LL.M. in Access to Justice

  • Candidates who appeared for the final LL.B. Examination in April / May 2018 can also apply
  • LL.B. Degree with 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST)

TISSNET Reservation Policy

As per the government of India, there are certain reservation policies for TISSNET which vary for different TISS campuses. Given below are the policies for TISSNET 2019

TISS Mumbai, Hyderabad and Tuljapur Campuses

  • For ST-7.5 percent of the seats will be reserved
  • For SC-15 percent of the seats will be reserved
  • For OBC (non-creamy layers)-27 percent of the seats will be reserved
  • For Kashmiri migrants-Seats to be reserved as per the GOL Directives
  • For Persons with Disability (PwD-Supernumerary Quota)-3 percent seats are reserved.

For armed forces-5 percent seats (supernumerary quota) for widows/children of personnel armed/paramilitary forces killed/disabled during the hostilities in the following priority

Priority I-Wards/Widows of para-military/personnel killed in action

Certificate required-proof in original

Priority II-Wards/widows of defense/para-military personnel who were disabled during military service

Certificate required-Original disability certificate stating the disability is due to military services

Priority III-Wards/widows of paramilitary/defense personnel who died during military service

Certificate required-Original death certificate stating the cause of death is due to military service

Priority IV-Wards of paramilitary/defense personnel disabled during military service

Certificate required-Disability certificate stating that disability is due to military service

Priority V-Wards of ex-servicemen police personnel/para-military and serving defense personnel who are recipients of Gallantry Awards.

TISSNET MBA Eligibility Criteria 2019 for International Students

This category includes candidates who are not Indian citizens or permanent residents of India, foreign nationals, overseas citizen of India (OCI-Dual citizens), person of Indian origin (PIO) card holders and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs). The criteria for them are listed below:

  • International students can apply for a maximum of 2 programmes across campuses/schools. But they should fulfill the general eligibility requirements for the programmes.
  • International candidates qualified from Foreign Universities of Boards of Higher Education as equivalent by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) will be eligible for admission.
  • Candidates interested in M.A Human Resource Management and Labour Studies Programme (HRM) need a GMAT score of 610 and above. The score has to be provided within the stipulated time frame during the admission process.
  • Candidates who have pursued a BA degree programme from a University which is located in a non-English speaking country need to submit a proof of English proficiency. IELTS and TOEFL scores will be accepted.
