ISI Admission Test Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria shown below for each of the academic programmes offered at ISI represent merely the bare minimum required to apply for a specific programme. Only meeting the eligibility requirements does not guarantee admission / selection into the desired programme.
Applicants who have completed or are about to pass their qualifying examinations but whose results are yet to be published may apply for admission to any of the programmes offered. If selected, the candidate's admission will be provisional and pending until the results are announced. In such instances, the candidate's application may be cancelled if the final exams are not completed / or they failed to clear the exam before the required date.
ISI Admission Test Exam Pattern
Students will be required to take the following test type -
MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions)
There are thirty questions in total in this type of Test. For each question, four answer options are provided, with only one option being right.
The questions are numbered 1, 2, 3, and so on, and the answer choices for each question are labelled (A), (B), (C), and (D). With the test booklet, aspirants will be handed an answer sheet (OMR Sheet) to indicate their answers.
They must try to answer as many questions as they can, keeping in mind that they will be penalised for each incorrect response. The grading scheme can be found in the question booklet.
The other format is Descriptive type.
Descriptive Kind of Questions
In this type of Test, aspirants are supposed to write the answers in a separate answer booklet, providing all the details. Candidates who do not achieve the minimum qualifying marks in the Forenoon test will not be evaluated further.
Some students will be chosen for interviews based on their performance in the written tests and academic records. Those who are not chosen will not be notified personally. However, a list of individuals chosen for interviews will be made available on the admissions website.
