NTA will conduct JEE Main 2022 Phase 1 from June 20 to 29, 2022 and Phase 2 will be conducted from July 21 to 30, 2022. JEE Main registration process 2022 for phase 1 was concluded on April 25.

JEE Main 2022 - The NTA will conduct JEE Main 2022 Phase 1 from June 20 to 29, 2022, and Phase 2 from July 21 to 30, 2022. JEE Main 2022 registration process 2022 for Phase 1 was concluded on April 25. The JEE Main application form 2022 for Phase 2 will be released soon by the authorities. To apply for the JEE Main 2022, the candidates should visit the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in and fill the application form.

NTA will conduct JEE Main 2022 exam for admission into B.E/B.Tech (Paper 1), BPlan (Paper 2B), and BArch (Paper 2A) in the premier organizations like IIITs, NITs, and GFTIs, JEE Mains 2022 exam will be conducted across 501 cities of India and across 13 overseas cities.  

The question in JEE Main 2022 Paper 1 will be asked from Class 11 and Class 12 topics, and hence, the candidates should have clear knowledge about the Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry of those classes. For Paper 2A, the aspirants will get the questions from General Aptitude, Mathematics, and Drawing and for Paper 2B, the aspirants should prepare General Aptitude, Planning, and Mathematics thoroughly.   • Candidates who have passed Class12 or equivalent degrees in 2020, 2021, or pursuing in 2022, are eligible to apply for the JEE Main 2022 exam  

  • The applicants from any age group can apply for the JEE Main exam 2022 since there is no lower or upper age limit for applying for the entrance test

  • Similar to the age limit, there is no specification of required marks. To apply for the exam, the interested candidates should only qualify for Class12 with any percentage of marks 

  • There is the flexibility of appearing for both Phase 1 and 2 or they can appear for any of these two phases of the JEE Main 2022 exam. In case of attempting the two phases of JEE Main exam, the best score out of these two exams will be considered for evaluating the All India Rank

JEE Main 2022: Exam Timings

NTA has announced the JEE Main 2022 exam timings in the official notification on the website. Both the Phase 1 and 2 exams will be conducted in two shifts: Morning and Afternoon. 

The shift timings for both the JEE Main 2022 Phase 1 and Phase 2 exams have been mentioned in a tabulated format in the following section:

What’s New in the JEE Main 2022 Exam?

NTA has brought a few major changes in the JEE Mains 2022 exam, which are mentioned in the following section:

  • JEE Main 2022 exam pattern has been updated and there will be negative marking for the Numerical questions. Till 2021, the negative marking was there only for MCQ-type questions (section A), now it will be applied also for Section B: numerical value questions.   

  • NTA has omitted the minimum criteria of 75% marks in Class12 to apply for the JEE Main exam 2022.

  • NTA has reduced the number of attempts at the JEE Main exam to two. 

  • NTA will not give any option to correct the JEE Main application form once it will be submitted successfully.

  • The PWD candidates will get additional 20 minutes individually to complete both Paper 1 and Paper 2.  

  • The aspirants will receive the PDF of the final scorecard/ result copy in the registered email ids. 

  • The number of exam centres has been increased. 

JEE Main 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Along with the official notification, NTA also released the eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2022. Candidates from any age group can apply for the exam. The candidates can appear for the JEE Main 2022 exam consecutively for 3 years from the passing year of Class12. Only those who completed Class12 in 2020, or 2021 or qualify in 2022, are eligible to apply for the JEE Main 2022 exam. In addition to this, the candidates should study Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics as compulsory subjects in Class12. 

Note- There is no minimum percentage of marks criteria to appear for the JEE Main 2022 exam.

JEE Main 2022 Application Form

NTA has concluded the JEE Main registration process 2022 for the Phase 1 exam on April 25, 2022. On the other hand, the Phase 2 registration process will commence shortly, an official notification regarding the same will be released by the authorities.

Steps to Fill the JEE Main 2022 Application Form

  1. Visit the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in

  2. Tap the ‘JEE Main 2022 Registration’ link 

  3. The candidates should now enter all the adequate details and click on the ‘submit’ option for completing the registration process 

  4. Once the registration process will be completed, the candidates will be received a message along with the application form number and password at their registered mobile number and email address. The aspirants should keep the message/ mail saved for future reference 

  5. Once the registration process is done, the candidates will now need to fill out the detailed application form. Now the candidates should fill in the details like educational qualification, details of the parents, and permanent address and preferable exam centre name 

  6. Upload the scanned image of passport-sized photograph and signature

  7. Now, the aspirants have to pay the JEE Main application fee

JEE Main 2022 Exam Pattern

The authorities have revised theJEE Main exam pattern 2022 and there will be negative marking for the Paper B- Numerical questions as well. The candidates will have to answer the questions of two papers, Paper 1: B.Tech and Paper 2 for B.Planning/B.Arch.

JEE Main 2022 Syllabus

For the current year, there are no changes in JEE Main 2022 syllabus. The candidates have to answer the questions of two papers-

  • Paper 1: B.Tech

  • Paper 2 for B.Planning/B.Arch. 

Paper 1 comprises three subjects, and these are Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics.

JEE Main 2022 Mock Test

To prepare for the exam in a better way and have an understanding of the paper pattern, candidates should appear for the JEE Main mock test 2022 on a regular basis. In addition, solving mock tests is also useful for time management. The mock tests are FREE OF CHARGE.

JEE Main 2022 Admit Card

Students must carry the admit card for JEE Main 2022 to the exam centre and without it, they will not be permitted to enter. The hall ticket is most likely to be released at least 7 days before the scheduled exam date. NTA will release the JEE Main 2022 admit card for Phase 1 and Phase 2 separately on the official website. Kindly note that they will not be allocated the same exam centre for each phase of the exam. 

JEE Main 2022 Exam Centres

NTA has increased the total number of exam centres for JEE Main 2022 from 334 to 514. While filling out the application form, the aspirants should choose their preferable JEE Main exam cities. While filling out the application form, the aspirants should choose the preferable exam cities in the form. The candidates will be allocated one city out of four JEE Main 2022 exam cities. Go through the following content to get some important details related to the JEE Main 2022 exam centres:

  • The JEE Main 2022 exam will be held in 514 cities in India and 13 abroad. 

  • Choice of JEE Main exam centre should be related to the present and permanent address of the candidates. 

  • The allotted JEE Main 2022 exam city to the candidates will be mentioned on the JEE Main 2022 admit card. 

  • The decision of NTA will be final related to the exam centre, exam date and shift. The further request will not be entertained.  

JEE Main 2022: Subject Wise Preparation Tips

Sometimes, it can be seen that the Class 12 candidates often face difficulty while preparation tips for JEE Main 2022. However, if you follow proper subject-wise preparation tips, then it will be easier to crack the JEE Main 2022 in one go and the qualified aspirants can take part in the JEE Advanced 2022 for getting admission to IITs. 

  • Before you start preparation, the candidates should have a clear concept of exam patterns and the syllabus.

  • The candidates should clear the basics of each topic of classes 11 and 12. 

  • Read thoroughly the NCERT books. 

JEE Main 2022: Mathematics Preparation Tips

  • Make a note on important formulas of Algebra, Menstruation to keep things easily memorized.

  • Some of the important topics of JEE Main 2022 Mathematics are Set Theory, Geometry, Algebra, Probability and Statistics, Number Theory.

  • Thoroughly practice the advanced topics like Binomial Theorem and Calculus etc.

JEE Main 2022: Chemistry Preparation Tips

  • Try to practice the periodic table daily. 

  • Since the candidates need to learn and memorize a lot of equations and names in the Chemistry section, hence, it will be better if the candidates will use mnemonic devices, mind maps, and flashcards for preparation.

  • Some of the important topics of Chemistry are Atomic Structure, Acids, and Bases, Electrochemistry, Chemical Bonding, Periodic Tables, Units and Measurements, etc.

JEE Main 2022: Physics Preparation Tips

  • Similar to Chemistry, the aspirants should use a mnemonic device to learn the Physics formulas.  

  • Some of the important topics of Physics are Forces, Kinematics, Thermodynamics, Energy, Electricity, Waves, Magnetism Electromagnetism, etc. 

JEE Main Result 2022

NTA will release the JEE Main 2022 Resulton the official website and for Phase 1 and 2, the results will be released separately. The candidates can also download the JEE Main 2022 scorecard from the official website. 

It can be expected that the JEE Main result 2022 for phase 1 will be released tentatively in the last week of April or the first week of May. Similarly, the phase 2 result will be announced in June 2022 tentatively.

  • Visit the official website of NTA

  • Click on JEE Main result link

  • Enter your login credentials 

  • JEE Main 2022 result will appear on the screen

  • Download the JEE Main 2022 result and take a printout of it for future reference. 

JEE Main 2022 Cut-off

NTA has set the minimum qualifying score which is required by candidates to appear for further rounds. JEE Main 2022 cut-off will be released along with the JEE Main result in online mode. More specifically, the JEE Main cut-off mark will decide the All India Rank and admission of the candidates to any of the IIITs, NITs, and GFTIs. NTA will publish the JEE Main 2022 cut-off separately for different category aspirants. 

JEE Main 2022 Answer Key

NTA will release the JEE Main Answer Key 2022immediately after the JEE Main 2022 exam will be held. The answer key will be released on the official website of NTA. To check the answer key, the candidates should log in using the application form number and password/date of birth.  

JEE Main 2022 Counselling 

According to the All India Rank (AIR), JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) will carry out the Counselling for JEE Main 2022. Through the JEE Main 2022 counseling process, the aspirants will be able to secure a seat in any of the IIITs, NITs, and GFTIs. Apart from these colleges, the candidates can also enroll their names in any of the renowned state-level or private engineering colleges.

JEE Main 2022 Participating Colleges

As per the list of JEE Main participating colleges 2022, the candidates will be able to enrol in any of the 31 NITs, 23 IIITs, 19 GFTIs, and any of the private engineering institutes. The aspirants, who will be appearing for the JEE Main 2022 exam, should register their names for JoSAA counselling.  

JEE Main 2022 Seat Allotment

Once the counselling process has been concluded, the seat allotment process for JEE Main 2022 will commence. The seat allotment process will be conducted in several rounds. Before the candidates appear for the first round of the seat allotment process, JoSAA officials will organize a mock allotment, so that the candidates will be familiar with the JEE Main seat allocation procedure.
