TANCET 2016 - Application Steps

Create Login ID
Register yourself as a New User, Clicking on “NEW USER SIGNUP HERE”. Then press the button Create User. The Candidates are advised to note down the user id and password which will be applicable for all future references regarding this examination’s /test’s and also for future notification’s /advertisements.
Completing the Online Form
Open the Link on the web page and fill personal information like Name, User ID, Password, Category, Gender, E-mail ID, Security Question & Answer and Date Of Birth.
Payment of Fees
Candidates have to register only one application for all entrance tests. The candidates have to pay ` 500/- (` 250/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates) as entrance test fee for any one of the programs Like- 1. M.B.A., or 2. M.C.A. or 3. M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Arch. / M.Plan.

How to Apply for TANCET 2016

  • The candidates can register only through online by logging on to www.annauniv.edu/tancet .
  • The procedure for registration is available in Anna University web portal. The hall tickets and mark sheets should be downloaded from the above website.
  • Fees- Candidates have to register only one application for all entrance tests.
  • The candidates have to pay ` 500/- (` 250/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates) as entrance test fee.

Eligibility for TANCET 2016

To appear in TANCET - Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test - MBA? Exam a student should follow following mentioned conditions - 

1. He/she should be passed with a recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration and obtained at least 50 % (45 % in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in any of the following qualifying degree examinations - 

  • 10+2+3 years pattern
  • 10+3 years Diploma +3 years pattern
  • B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch./B.Pharm.

2. He/she should be passed with a 10+2+AMIE* OR 10+3 years diploma (awarded by Board of Technical Education) + AMIE*.

Marks- At least 50 % marks in a recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration

TANCET 2016 Important Instructions

1. Bring the following documents while reporting to the Test Centre:

  • Admit Card.
  • Your latest coloured passport size photograph should be pasted on the Admit Card at the place provided for.
  • Photo identity as specified in the How to Register for TANCET ‘C’ point
  • Blue/Black ballpoint pen.

 

2. Cell phones, calculators, watch calculators, alarm clocks, digital watches with built in calculators/ memory or any electronics gadgets will not be allowed in the examination hall.
3. The Test Invigilator will check your Admit Card and ID proof.
 

 

TANCET 2016 Relaxation Policy

The selection of candidates will be through counseling following the rules of reservation of Government of Tamil Nadu. Reservation shall be made under seven categories namely OC, BC (other than BC Muslim), BCM (BC Muslim), MBC / DNC,SC,SCA, and ST.

Tamil Nadu Native candidates alone w ill be considered for communal reservation and the list of communities eligible to compete against the reserved quota.

a. Candidates seeking admission against ST / SC / SCA / MBC & DNC / BCM (BC Muslim) / BC quota should obtain the certificate of social status issued by the competent authority in the format (Permanent Community Card) prescribed by Government of Tamil Nadu in the G.O.Ms.No.781 (Revenue Department) dated 2.5.1988. In the case of ST candidates, the community certificate should be issued by the Revenue Divisional Officer / P.A. (General) to the Collector of Chennai / Sub-Collector of the District concerned vide G.O. Letter No. 32061/A DWII/89-2, dated 27.12.1989 and Letter No.21424/A DWIII/94-4, dt.15.11.1994 from the Secretary to Government, Adi Dravidar, and Tribal Welfare Department, Chennai 600 009. The Permanent Community Certificates issued to ST candidates by Tahsildars up to 11.11.1989 is valid.

b. Community Certificates obtained from the Other States will not be considered for communal reservation.

c. For communities linked with Districts (See Annexure) the candidate should obtain their community certificate in the respective district except for the communities mentioned in the G.O. (St) No.95 BC, MBC & Minorities Welfare Department, dated 28.10.2009. Community Certificate obtained from other than the respective District will not be considered.

d. To avail special reservation under Differently Abled Person category a certificate from the District Medical Board has to be enclosed. The format is available on the website: www .annauniv.edu Note: Candidates who do not produce the attested copy of permanent community certificate will be considered under open category. No further correspondence in this regard will be entertained.

e. To avail special reservation under physically challenged category a certificate from the District Medical Board has to be enclosed.
