Dear student,
It all depends on where your skill set lies. If you feel that you are better at the business aspect of a job and are meant to be a true leader, then you should definitely go for an MBA. However, if you are inquisitive kind, and love to experiment and get to the root of things, then probably MS is the best course of action for you.
Money wise, if you look at it, we will say that MBA will definitely get you a better paying job, and if you do it from one of the top notch MBA colleges in India, then you are sure to pick up a six figure salary. But if you are not interested in that job and don't love what you do, very soon, you will get bored and your performance will start dipping. It is a cut-throat market out there, and you want to be on the the top of your game.
To study MBA, you will need to appear for MBA entrance exams in India like CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, NMAT, IBSAT, SNAP etc. and basis your score, you can apply to various MBA colleges in India. Many MBA exams for this season are either already over or the registration is closed. You can apply for CMAT & XAT at this point in time.
M.S, on the other hand, will be more chilled out, and you will mostly work on your own or with a small group. It will be more research driven. The pay, when compared to MBA will be less, but you will have more time for yourself and your family, perhaps.
If you decide to pursue MS, we will suggest that you do it from reputed MS colleges in India, preferably a government university. The fee is less and the degree awarded certainly holds more value.
So, what it all comes down to are your aptitude, skill set and your interest. We will only say that you should not run behind the crowd, listen to your heart and do what your gut tells you to do. Good luck!
