Yenepoya Medical College is a part of the Yenepoya University - Karnataka. It is the first private University in the District of Dakshin Kannada (South Canara) that was recognized by MHRD, GOI in February 2008 after inspection by the University Grants Commission. 

It offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the field of medical sciences. It has also adopted 2 nearby villages - Kotepura & Balepuni - for comprehensive and total health care and prevention. Efforts to identify and treat HIV patients is also a preference of the college.
