course review and eligibility : first of all how is MCA course, is it worth doing?? second I'm currently doing bcom and desire to study further in computer programming. what options do i have?

The MCA program aims at professionally grooming the students so that they can flourish in the corporate IT Sector. MCA is more focused on the practical implementation of various computing aspects such as programming, databases, networking, web development, etc. The eligibility is Pass with 60% aggregate marks in BCA or B.Sc. (Computer Science) or B.Sc. (Information Technology) or any Graduation with Computer Science as a subject for three years OR B.A. or B.Com. or B.Sc. (any Graduation) with (Mathematics as one of the subjects at Graduation or 10+2 level) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST. In case a student has not studied computer as a subject in graduation, then he/she shall have to go through bridge/ additional courses (subjects) which may be scheduled before the commencement of classes or along with the regular classes. Students need not pay any additional amount for bridge/ additional courses. Clearing LPUNEST is a must. LPU's School of Computer Application is ranked among the top four Computer Applications Institutes of North India by NASSCOM. Hi Atul

MCA is a postgraduate course and in order to apply for this course you must have an under graduate degree of either BCA or B.Sc. B.Com students cannot apply for MCA. However, if you want to study computers or subjects related to that then it will be better if you apply for certificate courses or else you will have to apply for undergraduate computer course like BCA and start from scratch.
