Dear student,
The University of Delhi starts its application process around the end of May every year. You can log in to the official website of DU and fill up the online application form and select the courses & colleges that you are interested in applying at, in order of preference.
Once your Class 12 Board results are out, every college will release its first cut-off list. You will need to check if you have met the percentage cut-off and apply to the college, fill up the fee and you are admitted. If you don't meet the minimum requirement of the first cut-off in a given college, you can wait for the second cut-off list (which will come out only if there are seats lying vacant. And subsequently, the third, fourth or fifth cut-off lists).
A smart thing to do would be to apply for 3-4 courses (set priority) across multiple colleges so that you secure your chance of getting admission.
For eg., say you want to do B. Com from SRCC, Hindu or Hansraj college when you are filling up the form, select these 3 colleges as an option, but also select the option to do B. Com from Kirori Mal college & Ramjas College. So just in case you don't get through SRCC, Hindu or Hansraj college, at least you have a chance of getting through Kirori Mal college & Ramjas College.
Similarly, if B. Com (Hons) is your first option, you should also select B. Com (Pass) or Economics (Hons) or Statistics (Hons) or Maths (Hons) in each of the colleges that you are interested in. Just in case you don't get B. Com (Hons), at least you have the option of getting through basis the other courses. Hope you get the picture. Good luck!
