Dear Student,
Despite the global economic crisis in the recent times, the scope for Animation has been increasing rapidly. Even though Animation is a late entry in India, it will witness a tremendous growth in future. Ever year, thousands of aspirants are getting trained in animation, and they are being placed in the areas of 2D & 3D Animation. The scope for Animation will further increase as various animation giants like Disney are outsourcing the animation works. Therefore, choosing a career in Animation is a good choice.
To become an animator, a Bachelor’s or Diploma degree in Animation is mandatory. B.Sc. is a good degree if you are looking forward to do M.Sc. and get into teaching. But from application and job perspective B.Sc. is not a very advanced course.
However, only a few colleges or institute in India offer a Bachelor’s degree in Animation. There are various colleges which offer Diploma course in Animation, and the duration of the course varies between six months to one year. Additionally, if you want to take up Animation as your career path, you can choose Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts (BFA).
If you want to pursue a Diploma course or Degree in Animation, the minimum qualification is 10+2.
