Analysis and Synthesis: Analyze the progress of human civilization through the study of art, materials, techniques, and technologies and synthesize the learning to create contemporary designs. Legal Compliance: Apply knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework and codes of practice in establishing and managing organizations. At LPU the programme emphasises sound theoretical grounding in principles and process of animation film making with extensive practical works, it enables proficiency in students to handle and deliver industry-standard projects/output. The Eligibility Criteria is Pass with 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST. The programme focuses on developing drawing and sketching skills through observation and study of light and shade. The student will be able to Acquire knowledge of the elements and principles used in designing, attain skills to choose and implement vector and raster tools to create a visual design. The programme helps develop competence to work in a team to execute visual design concepts utilising the visualisation, drawing, sketching, and painting skills, Design and execute sequential art and illustration in the form of comics and storyboards for use in films, games, and other related media. Students will be able to analyse and execute projects following proper pipeline and management of time. This course will help to create and execute digital painting using appropriate software at par with industry standards. This course will help to develop concepts and visually represent concept/creativity through drawing. Explain the history of animation and also provides an insight into various mediums of communicative media. Students will be able to convert ideas to stories and present the same through proper format. A set of four elective courses in a related area to develop a competency beyond the major area Gaming, 3d visualisation, conceptual design, Graphics, Effects, and simulation. Dear Student,

Despite the global economic crisis in the recent times, the scope for Animation has been increasing rapidly. Even though Animation is a late entry in India, it will witness a tremendous growth in future. Ever year, thousands of aspirants are getting trained in animation, and they are being placed in the areas of 2D & 3D Animation. The scope for Animation will further increase as various animation giants like Disney are outsourcing the animation works. Therefore, choosing a career in Animation is a good choice.

To become an animator, a Bachelor’s or Diploma degree in Animation is mandatory. B.Sc. is a good degree if you are looking forward to do M.Sc. and get into teaching. But from application and job perspective B.Sc. is not a very advanced course.

However, only a few colleges or institute in India offer a Bachelor’s degree in Animation. There are various colleges which offer Diploma course in Animation, and the duration of the course varies between six months to one year. Additionally, if you want to take up Animation as your career path, you can choose Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts (BFA).

If you want to pursue a Diploma course or Degree in Animation, the minimum qualification is 10+2.
