At LPU they focus on the basics of modern library administration covering classification, cataloguing, Database types and functions, Resource management tools and strategies. THe eligibility criteria is Pass with 50% aggregate marks in Graduation (any discipline) or equivalent. Salient Features Cataloguing Practice The practical classes of Cataloguing is done with Anglo American Cataloguing Rule- II and Classified Catalogue Code. Classification Practice The practical classes for classifying books/documents are done using Dewey Decimal Classification and Colon Classification Scheme. Competitive Exams Students can appear in various exams and Professional Enhancement Activities to prepare for competitive examinations. LPU B.Lib.I.Sc (Bachelor of Library and Information Science) is a one-year undergraduate course offered by the university for students willing to take up their careers in library science. Students who have finished a Bachelor’s degree in any stream can further pursue a Bachelor of Library and Information Science. The course duration is a minimum of 1 year which may extend upto 2 years. B.Lib.I.Sc admission is through counseling and interview by the university. There is a 5% relaxation for students from North-East states and Defense personnel backgrounds. 10% relaxation is offered for an outstanding sportsperson. Course Eligibility Criteria B.Lib.I.Sc Candidates must have scored a minimum of 50% in Bachelor's degree in any discipline or equivalent LPU offers unique undergraduate courses like library programs. Students pursuing B.
