A career as an automobile engineer is for people who are driven and passionate about cars. These days due to growth in the automobile sector, the job opportunities are also growing.  The demand is from manufacturing, service station, transport companies, defence services industries.

A student can go for higher studies to gain more experience and can do M.Tech or PhD. They can also opt for lectureship or for the post of professor in engineering colleges/universities.

Job prospects

Due to the tremendous growth of automobile industry there numerous opportunities for automobile engineers . Qualified candidates with excellent communication skills are in much demand in big and reputed companies  like Volvo, Telco,Ashok Leyland,  Ford, Hyundai and Maruti.etc

Even  private motor repair and maintenance service stations, automobile garages or workshops also provided job opportunities for qualified automobile engineers.

Qualification required:

-After 10th, a candidate can opt for diploma programme in Automobile Engineering and then  can get an Engineering degree for which diploma holders need to have 50% marks in aggregate.

- For B.E/B.Tech in Automobile Engineering - 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Biomedical with high percentage of marks

- For M.E/M.Tech - Bachelor’s degree in B.E/B.Tech

You may also have to appear for entrance tests based on the shortlisted colleges you want to take admission in.
