Bapatla Engineering College was established in 1981 and is an autonomous institute functioning under the jurisdiction of Bapatla Education Society. The college is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Government of India. The college is affiliated to Acharya Nagarjuna University. The college provides eight B.Tech. programmes, five M.Tech. programmes, five M.Sc. programmes, four diploma programmes in engineering and an M.C.A. programme. Bapatla Engineering College also has many learning centres, such as the Bosch Rexroth Centre of Competence, the Siemens Centre of Excellence, the Robotic Technology Centre, and so on. At the undergraduate level, B.Tech is one of the most popular courses offered by the college. There are 252 highly qualified faculty members at the college. 

Candidates must take the AP EAMCET in order to get admission to  BEC Bapatla's B.Tech programme. Candidates must meet the Bapatla Engineering College cutoff after the results are announced in order to participate in AP EAMCET counselling. Candidates must also commit to a college during the counselling process. Computer Science Engineering has a duration of 4 years. The BEC fee for CSE is Rs 61,000.
