The inception of the Department of Library and Information Science took place during the academic year 2012-13 when it introduced the Bachelor of Library Science program. Subsequently, in the following year, 2013-14, the department commenced the Master of Library Science course. During the session of 2021-22, the department gained affiliation for the Post Graduate Diploma in Library Automation and Networking. Upon successful completion of these Govt. V.Y.T.PG. Autonomous College courses, the students from the department go on to serve various institutions such as educational establishments, medical facilities, and high courts, both within the state and across the country.
