I have spent 4 years in lpu for my studies and I have seen that the agriculture department is one of the finest departments. Well-equipped and well grown from the last couple of years. Moreover, LPU is the first private university got ICAR approval. LPU holds a stellar record in placements as big brands like VLCC Healthcare Ltd. , Ankur Seeds, HDFC, Dhanuka Agritech Ltd. , Ebro India Pvt. Ltd. , etc. Have visited for campus recruitment at packages upto 4.5 LPA. In addition to this, students can attain positions as Agriculture Inspectors, Agriculture Officers, POs, Food Quality Inspectors, Agriculture Development Officer, Horticulture Development Officer, Technical Assistants and administrative posts in government and non-government organizations. Over and above, I also came to know that recently, LPU has been ranked in top 80 amongst all private and government institutes by NIRF, MHRD, GOI which shows the quality being delivered at the institute.

LPU is well known for its B.Sc(Hons) Agriculture course. LPU is the first private University to get ICAR accreditation. The faculty is well qualified and most of them are Ph. Ds and provide full support to the students. The best thing is the University does not compromise with the academics as all the lectures are held and if a faculty wants a leave either the makeup lectures are planned or adjustments are provided for that particular slot. In this stream as most of the work is fieldwork, there every student is allocated a separate piece of land to perform their tasks in the supervision of the staff. If I talk about placements, University provides separate placement oriented classes, and students also studied subjects like analytical skills, soft skills, etcetera as part of the curriculum to prepare the students. I would like to name a few companies that visit LPU- Nestle, VLCC Health Care, HDFC, Rallis India, and many other firms.

There are some private colleges in Maharashtra also which you can admission through payment as far i listened they are not up to mark. When coming to faculty's in LPU most of the faculty will be PhD candidates they are good at teaching and very helpful for the students.Unlike govt university's faculty's cannot skip the lectures in Lpu . At the end of the semester faculty need to cover the skipped lectures too by conducting extra makeup classes.Research work is upto mark in LPU Placements - LPU is trying to get placements . companies visited are Tata Rallis, NCDEX, dhanuka ,smur Agro, pragya, Reliance etc . LPU trains you for placements by conducting placement classes. It will train your for Group discussions and personal interview and will focus on improving you communication skills and reducing your state fear which most of the colleges do not teach you. LPU also conducts classes for the students who want to prepare for masters from 3rd year onward. In Lpu you can do internships ,job from final year onward.for govt university's you are allowed from 4th year. You can do job/ internship from 4th year itself. Diversity will be more in LPU you can make friends from almost all states and few countries too. When diversity is concerned no university in India can beat LPU. Lab and filed work is also good. There are student organization in Agriculture also AGRINIANS and agros you can also join in it for developing your skills. LPU is just like the more reap the more you get. I hope this helps you. Being an alumni of LPU I would rather say that the school of Agriculture in Lovely Professional University is among the best place for pursuing the BSC in agriculture. Eligibility for admission in this course is as follows, 60% in 10+2/Intermediate with English, Physics, Chemistry and Maths/ Biology/ Forestry + LPUNEST or 60% in 10+2/Intermediate 10+2 (Agriculture) + LPUNEST OR 60% in 2 year Diploma(Agriculture) after 10th + LPUNEST Age Condition :- Minimum 16 Years (i.e. born on or before last date of admission) 5% to North East states and Sikkim candidates / Defence Personnel and their Dependents/Wards of Kashmiri Migrants Now you would be saying why I am saying like that, actually my cousin has completed his degree from here only. The most significant thing which should be emphasized is that LPU is the first private university which has been approved by ICAR.I along with my cousins had visited the fields, labs. In order to infuse understanding on emerging problems and technologies involved in agriculture field visits are conducted to neighbouring farms, orchards and nurseries. Not only subject related education is imparted but also the professional enhancement is added by the university through the different courses like soft skills and communication skills. Major Highlights of the programme that I would be highlighting over here are as follows: a) The course would impart knowledge and understanding of fundamental concepts and techniques of maintaining and enhancing soil fertility, crop production, crop management, crop improvement, biodiversity and sustainability of agriculture worldwide. b) The course would develop the ability to know farming practices and their scope to improve in the rural areas and the environments. c) It would help in applying the knowledge of basic science through Agricultural microbiology, Plant biochemistry and Biotechnology. d) It will focus on application of knowledge of Agri-business management and finance to develop profitable agricultural system. e) 19.25 LPA PLACEMENT OFFERED IN PANDEMIC BY DE SHAW LPU students have got top packages from leading Agriculture companies. Students of School of Agriculture are placed in Dhanuka, HDFC Bank, Reliance retail, Syngenta, Bio SEED Nestle, Smur Agro, VLCC, Virbac, Amazon, Sanra organics and many more. LPU would be the best option to pursue the agriculture degree as actually my cousin has completed his degree from here only. A good university is the one where is good faculty, infrastructure, placements, events etc. By comparing these features you can take the decision. You can visit to websites of both or can visit to campus. One of my known is in LPU in the same course. Reviews are pretty good. But you need to be wise. Take your decision by yourself. If you are looking for quality education and good placements along with learned faculty work hard on you to get you placed in the best of the companies, then LPU is the place for you to go for. LPU’s school of Agriculture has ICAR approval. Students who have passed out from LPU have got jobs in various departments and states. LPU has made a good name for itself in a short span of time by working hard for its students in terms of education, faculty, placements, infrastructure, etc. It works for the overall development of its students. Its main aim is to provide students with ample exposure both in the form of theoretical and practical knowledge for which there is much emphasis on workshops, live projects etc along with class room teaching. The university has made quality education possible for all by providing good scholarships under different categories. Eligibility for the same is Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 or intermediate (with English, Physics, Chemistry and Maths or Biology or Forestry) OR 10+2 or Intermediate (Agriculture) OR 2 years Diploma in Agriculture after 10th or equivalent. LPUNEST is not compulsory .it will act as a scholarship test only. Fee per semester is 98000 INR(without scholarship) They provide scholarships on various category Like on the basis of Qualifying exam,LPUNEST,National level exam,Achievements on sports and other co-curricular activity and Special scholarships for defense personnel, orphan applicants, board topper, person with disability and Due to current pandemic situation LPU has introduced COVID-19 FRONTLINE Scholarship scheme worth Rs.20 Crore, to honor the selfless contribution of the COVID-19 workforce (I. e. Doctors, Nurses, Para-medical staff, Civic staff, Police personnel and others as per categories listed) LPU focuses on quality education a lot and all the professors of LPU are highly qualified and friendly, LPU also focuses a lot on practical knowledge and agriculture students of LPU has to go through various such practical tasks and projects which makes it very easy to understand the concepts and develop a deep knowledge of the subjects. The best thing is the University does not compromise with the academics as all the lectures are held and if a faculty wants a leave either the makeup lectures are planned or adjustments are provided for that particular slot. Through the Rural Agriculture Work Experience (RAWE) program the students develop a real-time understanding of conventional agriculture methods and effective dissemination of knowledge to the farmers. LPU trains you for placements by conducting placement classes. It will train your for Group discussions and personal interview and will focus on improving you communication skills and reducing your state fear which most of the colleges do not teach you. University provides additional placement oriented classes and students also studied subjects like analytical skills, soft skills, etcetera as part of the curriculum to prepare the students for all types of competitive exams. I would like to name a few companies that visit LPU- Nestle, VLCC Health Care, HDFC, Rallis India, and many other firms. In order to provide a basic understanding of emerging problems and technologies involved in agriculture, field visits are conducted to neighboring farms, orchards, and nurseries Now, these were just some of the few advantages of LPU but there is much more good to say about LPU like it’s infrastructure, study environment, placements, cultural programs and what not, I can definitely say that LPU would be worth joining.

Yes, absolutely Candidate can do Graduation and Post-Graduation both in Agriculture in LPU. According to my best knowledge LPU is the first private University to have ICAR accreditation. In LPU there are 8 specializations in Masters of Agriculture; Agronomy, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Soil Science and Agriculture Chemistry, Entomology, Plant Pathology, Horticulture (Fruit Science), Horticulture (Vegetable Science) and Horticulture (Floriculture and Landscaping). LPU offers 4 year graduation program also but student must have minimum 60% aggregate marks in 12th standard and must have studied English, Physics, Chemistry and Maths or Biology or Forestry in 12th standard. There is 5% relaxation in the eligibility to North East states and Sikkim candidates/ Defence Personnel and their Dependents/ Wards of Kashmiri Migrants) (10% relaxation to outstanding Sports Persons. LPU has very practical and advanced approach in the teaching pattern and you will realize once you get chance to have conversation with any of the Agriculture Students of LPU. Actually they feel very fortunate when got to learn field implementation, basic concepts in yield production.

Agriculture, as an agrarian country, has enormous potential and will never run out of work prospects in the public and commercial sectors, as well as entrepreneurship opportunities. For recent grads, there are several government and private career prospects. When it comes to government jobs, state agriculture departments hire agriculture graduates for officer positions. They are also hired by government banks to fill officer positions (generally dealing with Loans). The following are some of the government sector organizations that have job openings: Indian Agricultural Research Institute North Eastern Region Agricultural Marketing Corporation Agricultural finance corporations Indian Council of Agricultural Research Council of Scientific and Industrial Research National Seeds Corporation Limited Now that we know there is a lot of job potential in the sector, it is critical that the education be obtained from top institutions that have the necessary syllabi and ICAR accreditation. The following are some of the best colleges that offer Agriculture courses: University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore Lovely Professional University, Punjab GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology Punjab Agriculture University Do check the eligibility and selection/admission criteria of all these and pursue as per your best fit. The eligibility criteria is Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 or Intermediate (with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Maths or Biology or Forestry) OR 10+2 or Intermediate (Agriculture) OR 2 years Diploma in Agriculture after 10th or equivalent. I will highlight some of the features. 1. LPU is the first private University to get ICAR accreditation. 2. The faculty is well qualified and most of them are Ph. Ds and provide full support to the students. 3. The best thing is the University does not compromise with the academics as all the lectures are held and if a faculty wants a leave either the makeup lectures are planned or adjustments are provided for that particular slot. 4. In this stream as most of the work is fieldwork, there every student is allocated a separate piece of land to perform their tasks in the supervision of the staff. 5. Thanks
