Dear Aspirant, There is no need for maths for a Fashion designing programme at LPU. My elder sister has done her B.Design Fashion from Lovely Professional University and today she is successfully running her own Brand, she was also the part of internship projects with leading Fashion stylists. Also, her designs are appreciated not just in India but even abroad. She always keeps on appraising LPU for different platforms provided by them. Maths is such a subject which is required in every aspects of life in different modes. For Fashion Designing course also it's recommended have a nominal / fair knowledge of Maths !! Aspirants can pursue Fashion Design as a course at the undergraduate or even at the postgraduate level. Apart from this, aspirants can even pursue short-term Diploma or Certificate programmes in the field of Fashion Design. LPU is offering Fashion Design course in Diploma to PG level. Some of the Unique features I would like to mention about School of Fashion, LPU:- 1.Availability of international forecast WGSN for trend forecasting. 2.Latest machinery & soft wares to keep students at the cutting edge of technology. 3.In B. Design (Fashion) the students are provided with an opportunity to showcase their design collection through an Annual Graduating Fashion show. 4.The various programs of the dept. are supported by materials like books of various international publishers, state of the art labs and design studios. 5.The emphasis is on self-motivated learning by using creativity, exploring techniques & innovating new applications in fashion Area or Fields studied: Basic sketching skills, Fashion drawing, Apparel manufacturing process, Fundamentals of Textile Science, Technical design development using Graphic tools like Adobe Photoshop, Corel draw, Adobe illustrator, Macro media Flash and CAD/CAM. Fashion accessories (Costume Jewellery, Bags, Hats, etc.), Garment construction, Pattern making. Out Campus & Internship exposure involves: - a) Industry-visit & day- visit to local Garment/Textile/Leather Industries. b) Training with renowned designers and in Export and manufacturing houses. c) Craft documentation - visit to Indian villages to document, design & innovate traditional craft of India. Hope this helps !!

No, maths is not required for the fashion designing course as students of fashion courses are taught details about drawing and computer aided design program so that they can illustrate their innovative designs and creativity in the best possible manner. Fashion designing is a branch having a lot of scope and in LPU, they give a lot of exposure to students, through guest lecturers from industry top shots, various in campus and out campus fashion shows, and also they have their own store where the students creations are showcased and sold. The school provides a platform for students to experiment with creative designs, patterns, fabrics and colours. Live with fashion events, visits by renowned national and international fashion designers, innovation and creativity is fostered in the students at every step. They are encouraged to experiment with different materials to create conceptual wear and accessories. Also Students are exposed to fashion shows, craft fairs, industry internships and craft documentation. They get intensive exposure to practical work in Pattern making, Draping, Weaving, Printing, Dyeing, Garment Construction labs. Students are given various Live-projects during the course of the program to create commercially viable designs. LPU provides a good platform for placements for all streams and programs. LPU has a separate dept which looks after placement opportunities. apart from that, each school has its own placement coordinator who is responsible and actively works for not only calling companies to the campus, but also for preparing students for placements by giving them proper training. LPU students have been placed in well reputed national as well as international clothing brand like H & M, acquiring 14 Lakhs + per annum pay package. Genesis, a premium brand under Reliance Retail selected 6 students at an average pay package of 4 lac Per annum. SatyaPaul selected 4 students @ the average package of 4 lac Per annum. Satya Paul is Indias premier designer label with an International presence.
