Dear Student,
Most of the colleges offering BA Economics in India require candidates to have studied Maths at the school-level for admission to the BA Economics programme. This is an understandable requirement since Maths is an integral part of Economic study at any level.
There are some colleges such as Loyola College, Chennai and Madras Christian College (MCC), Chennai where Maths is not a necessary requirement. However, preference may be provided to a student who has studied Maths at school-level.
Please note that having a good knowledge of Mathematics will help you go a long way in any Economics programme. Please feel free to write back to us if you need information about admission to and eligibility criteria of any particular college.
Thank you.
