Dear Student,
In Maharashtra, 10% seats in the government engineering colleges are reserved for students belonging to the SEBC (Socially and Educationally Backward Classes) category. Earlier, 16% of the total seats in government engineering colleges in Maharashtra were reserved under the State quota but now it has been reduced to 10%. This reservation is basically for the Maratha community, a category which has been added recently to the SEBC under the Maharashtra State Reservation for Socially and Educationally Backward Classes Act, 2024. We hope this answers your query. Good luck!
