The most budget friendly M.Tech courses are offered by central and state government colleges. All centrally funded or state funded colleges take admission on the basis of either GATE or state-level entrance exams. If you are not appearing for GATE 2017, you still have the chance to appear for various state-level PG entrance exams for admission in M.Tech CE.
Competition at state-level entrance exams is much less than that in GATE exam. You will have a fair chance of getting a seat in your native state with your domicile as most states have seats reserved for their own students. There are various private colleges that take admission without GATE score but the fees is considerably more than government colleges.
