i am from science background unaware of banking knowledge and GK too, is it possible if i can skip these two section and do well in others , how many marks are required to clear cutoff as a general category student . please help

While it is technically possible to skip the General Knowledge (GK) and Banking/Economics sections in PU MET 2026 exam, it is highly risky. Because these two sections together account for nearly 40% of the total weightage, skipping them entirely would force you to maintain almost 100% accuracy in the remaining sections to stay competitive. Since there is negative marking (0.25 marks deducted per wrong answer), it is better to leave a question blank than to guess. However, instead of skipping them entirely, try to cover "Static GK" and "Business Terminologies," which are often easier to memorize quickly.

To get into University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS) at Panjab University:

• You should aim for a score of 55% to 65% of the total marks (approx. 110–130 out of 200).

• Remember that the entrance test only accounts for 85% of the final merit; the remaining 15% comes from the Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI).
