In order to achieve star mark in SEBA HSLC exams, one should get a total marks of around 450-509. So, if I miss out my some numbers, example - if I get 445/600 then will I be provided with a few grace marks to elevate to star mark position?

Dear student,

It's great that you're aiming for a star mark in your SEBA HSLC exams! Here's how it works:

  • Star Mark Requirement: To get a star mark, you need a total score between 450 and 509 out of 600.
  • Grace Marks: There is provision for grace marks, but it's primarily for students who are close to passing, not necessarily for achieving a star mark.
  • How Grace Marks Work:
    • Grace marks are usually given to students who are failing in one or two subjects by a small margin.
    • The amount of grace marks awarded depends on how close you are to the passing mark and the overall performance of the students.
    • The goal of grace marks is to help students reach the minimum passing grade, not to push them into a higher category like a star mark.

In your case:

  • You've scored 445, which is 5 marks short of the star mark range.
  • While there's a possibility of getting a few grace marks, it's unlikely they would be enough to reach the star mark threshold.

What you can do:

  • Check for Revaluation: If you feel you deserve more marks in any subject, you can apply for revaluation. This might increase your overall score.
  • Prepare for Compartment Exams: If you don't get the star mark, you might have to appear for compartment exams to improve your score.

Please Note: The exact rules for awarding grace marks can vary, so it's best to check the official SEBA HSLC guidelines or consult with your school authorities for the most accurate information.
