LPU donot offer Marine Engineering but offers mechanical engineering Engineering programmes are the heart of any institution and so is of LPU. There is no point to compare because every organisation is just doing good at their places but yes I have heard alot about LPU because of its good number of years of establishment and the rankings it possess. Last year my friend wanted to admit his son in good engineering institute. After lot of inquiry, we decided to opt for LPU. As we all know that B. Tech Mechanical Engineering is the branch of engineering that involves production, designing, and operations of machines and the main objective of LPU is to prepare students for applying the principles of mechanical engineering for designing, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. LPU provides the different areas under study such as Applied Mechanics, Machine Design, Materials Engineering, manufacturing Engineering and many more. The Mechanical Department of LPU has highly experienced and qualified staff pursuing their research in thrust areas such as CAD/CAM, Mechanical design, Thermal engineering, Fluid dynamics, Manufacturing Engineering, Tool design and Flexible Manufacturing Systems/Automation. The Department has to its credit more than 100 research publications in International, National Journals including prestigious ASME Transactions, International Conference and National Conference. The companies which have visited in LPU are Asahi Glass India Ltd ,Cognizant ,Tech Mahindra , Anglo, Eastern Ship Mgmt , Zycus , Think and Learn , Cactus Communications , XL Dynamics , Lava International , Unisys , Jet Airways , ELGI (Off Campus) , Daikin Air-conditioning , Honda and many more. Apart from the placements students can pursue their career in: 1. Defence Services 2. Indian Engineering services 3. PSUs like NTPC, NHPC, ONGC etc. 4. HIgher Studies like M.Tech, MBA. 5. Core Industry (Manufacturing/Design Industry) 6. Software Industry 7. Food processing Industry (Milk Plants Hope this serves your purpose
