The important criteria for admission in BSc. forensic science, As per LPU guidelines, the criteria is 605 with english, physics, chemistry and maths/bio/biotec . so if you had any these during your schooling you might get admission based on it.

Yes, you can get admission in a BSc after completing a diploma in engineering. After completing your diploma in engineering, you can get admission in the second year of engineering as a lateral entry program of B. Tech too and if in case you are interested only in doing the BSc then you can also go for that.But for BSc programme you must have to do your 12th by a recognised board with having subjects physics and mathematics. Dear student, institutions offering B.Sc Forensic Science only accept the application requests of those who have completed their +2 studies in the Science stream from a recognized Board. Also, out of all the science stream students, these institutions choose specifically those who had Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Computer Science subjects at the qualifying level and had secured at least 50% aggregate marks. 

As evident from the aforementioned paragraph, you cannot apply for B.Sc Forensic Science admission with a diploma in mechanical engineering.
