Dear student,

By M. Arch, do you mean Archelogy or Architecture? If latter, then no, you cannot do a Masters course in Architecture after graduation. You need to have studied Bachelors in Architecture after giving the NATA exam.

However, if you meant Archeology, then yes, you can do it.

  • You should have studied a Bachelor course in History/ Archaeology at the UG level with minimum 55% marks
  • And you should have studied History up till Class 12 as well

Some institutes, like the Institute of Archaeology, the academic wing of the Archeological Survey of India in New Delhi, conducts a written exam, followed by an interview.

Numismatics, Epigraphy, Archives, Museology, Applied Sciences, Theory and Methods in Archaeology, Protohistory, Art, Museology, Chemical Preservation, Antiquarian Laws etc. are some of the subjects that you will study.

Archeology colleges in India:

  • St. Stephen's College, New Delhi
  • Loyola College, Chennai
  • Miranda House, New Delhi
  • Fergusson College, Pune
  • Madras Christian College, Chennai
  • Hindu College, Amritsar
  • Tumkur University, Karnataka
  • Department of Archaeology, University of Kerala
  • Department of Archaeology, University of Calcutta
  • Department of Ancient History and Archeology, University of Madras
  • Delhi Institute of Heritage Research and Management
  • Department of Ancient Indian History and Epigraphy, Karnataka University of Dharwad

Good luck!
