Nutrition courses : Nutrition and dietitics course is available? And can we opt it with bcom?

Nutrition and dietitian is a very good course which is being efficiently conducted by LPU . Students were exposed to Community to know about the extension education and community nutrition. They were also engaged in hospital internship as dietitian to learn about the patient’s counseling techniques and report analysis. Students were also taken to food kiosk and kitchens of food courts to learn about the food service management. They were also involved in new product development and its analysis pertaining to nutrition, shelf life and cost analysis. Emphasis is given on case studies and inter-personal based teaching to develop skills in analytical thinking and reflective judgment by reading and discussing complex, real -life scenarios. LPU also provides for international benchmark in this programme ,IOWA State University, USA and PURDUE University to name a few. LPU is known for its best placements and has been awarded for this several times.

BSc Nutritions and Dietetics is a three year program that produces graduates with strong basic concepts of nutrition and diet planning which help in crafting skilful and hospitality industry ready nutrition experts for addressing the health challenges. Eligibility is Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Biotechnology) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST. If you have an inborn interest in cooking and exploring various cuisines from different countries, nutrition and dietetics is one subject which will help you explore how to design controlled diets. Based on the body mass index, you can design your own food charts that would summarise the quantity of fats, carbohydrates, and proteins which must be consumed everyday. Visits to Aanganwadis and NGOs creating awareness about nutrition among masses are an important part of the curriculum. Regular interactive sessions with academicians and chief dietitians to update knowledge on the latest technologies are part of this course at LPU. Dear Student,

You can take up Certificate course in Nutrition and Dietetics course while pursuing B.Com. However, you can only take the course in distance mode. IGNOU offer Certificate course in Nutrition and Dietetics.
