Question regarding admisdion : I have not given my class 12 exams. My class 10 % is 74.6. My diploma in electrical engineering % is 81. Do I have to give LPUNEST exam or am I eligible for direct admission? Am I eligible for availing scholarship?

LPU offers B tech (Lateral entry) programs for the students who have done 3 year diploma after 10th in engineering. You are fulfilling the eligibility to take admission in b tech lateral entry with your 10th & Diploma marks but you have to appear & qualify the LPUNEST test. The test has been considered for Eligibility & scholarship both. LPU offers various scholarships on the basis of 10th, Diploma, LPUNEST etc. There are other scholarships available for the students. First of all let me clear one thing that you need to give the LPUNEST exam for sure , you can take admission in b.tech lateral entry if you have done diploma of three year after 10th or 12th what so ever. If you wants to do b.tech then in that case you can take admission lateral entry and also need to give entrance exam but if you are interested in taking admission in any other course like b.com , bba , bca or so on. eligibility criteria for b.tech:- 60% aggregate marks in Diploma (Engg.) (any stream) 3 years after 10th Or 2 years after 10+2 (Non-Medical) Or B.Sc. (Non-Medical) Or B.Sc. (Computer Science) Or BCA or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST.

As you have 80% and above marks, so you are eligible for Scholarship based on last qualifying exam. Depending on the on which you register yourself for LPUNEST, your Scholarship will be applicable. Also, you can improve your Scholarship through LPUNEST, which is for both Eligibility and Scholarship purpose. Good LucK !!

Admission in any programme depends on qualifying the Eligibility criteria for the same programme. As per the eligibility for B.tech lateral entry is to get Pass with 60% aggregate marks in Diploma (Engg.) (any stream) 3 years after 10th or 2 years after 10+2 (Non-Medical) or B.Sc. (Non-Medical) or B.Sc. (Computer Science) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST. So, qualifying the same you can proceed for Admissions. LPUNEST is National Entrance and Scholarship Test for admission to various programmes in Lovely Professional University. This test forms the basis of Eligibility and Scholarship for most of the programmes and for some of the programmes test is applicable only for scholarship. So, this LPUNEST serves both the purposes. Being an alumni of LPU, I believe I can answer your concern. One of my cousin applied for admission in LPU recently and he told me that LPU has made mandatory to appear and clear LPUNEST for admission to any B-tech course. LPUNEST is eligibilty and scholarship criteria for admission in LPU now a days.LPU offers many scholarships on various parameters and one of them is based on your performance in LPUNEST. In some courses LPUNEST is mandatory but in others it is for scholarships. Scholarships are awarded to candidates based on their performance on any of the following categories: 1. Eligibility Qualification The scholarship will also be offered on the basis of Eligibility qualification. 2. Certain National Level Tests (like JEE (Main), NEET, UCEED, CAT, MAT, GATE, GPAT etc.) 3. LPUNEST: (LPU National Entrance & Scholarship Test) 4. Performance in Sports, Cultural, R&D, Co-curricular, Social Service and Bravery Awards 5. I just heard that LPU has relaxed his admission criteria due to current situation of COVID-19. So you can directly proceed for admission with good scholarship. Earlier, LPUNEST was for admissison but now it will be taken by university for scholarship purpose only after admission. The scholarships provided by LPU helps students for their career without monetary constraints. Even, LPU has floated COVID-19 front-line scholarship for COVID survivors and their dependents to target every aspirant in this current scenario. So last date is 31 August,2020. Yes, there is lateral entry provision in various programs of LPU. After diploma in: Engineering Management Design Computer Applications and IT Commerce Interior and Furniture Design Pharmaceutical Sciences Hotel Management and Tourism, Product and Industrial Design, Ayurvedic, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Architecture, Fashion Design, Physiotherapy, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Physical Education. and after graduation in MCA Lateral entry program. However the eligibility criteria can differ. For all Engineering Programs, the eligibility shall be 60% marks while in others it is 50 marks, for full details you must visit the website lpu.in. Adding some more information: LPU's programs are are designed with exhaustive consultations and feedback from the industry and are upgraded every semester. LPU offers different types of scholarships on the basis of marks in either of the last two qualifications, LPUNEST, Sports, Defence, COVID-19 Frontline Scholarship, and many more. If you are eligible for more than one scholarship, only one scholarship you will get is the maximum one. The best thing is if you get the scholarship, the tuition fees after getting a scholarship will be applicable every semester except a few types of scholarships. No worries, based on your details you can proceed to take admission in a Lateral entry programme and that will also save a year for you. As Lovely professiona university offers more than 200 programmes and among them they offer lateral entry programmes as well. There is No entrance exam for this course. Also, as per your score in Diploma, i.e 81% you are also eligible for scholarship as well. The sooner you apply, the maximum scholarship you will get. Yes, definitely based on your qualification and your interest, you can apply for the admissions in B.Tech. lateral entry programme without any entrance exam.
