What is the Calcutta University selection process for the M.Tech programme?

Dear Sahil,

Candidates who apply for Calcutta University admission to the M.Tech programme are selected on the basis of merit. However, merit lists are made for non-sponsored seats (Part A) and sponsored (Part B). The criteria for calculating merit for both groups are given below. 

For Part A, eligible B.Tech/MCA students are exempted from interviews. The selection criteria include 70% weightage on GATE marks and 30% weightage on marks obtained in the last qualifying examination. Valid GATE scores are preferred but not mandatory. For Part B, a 70% weightage is given on GATE marks and a 30% weightage on the interview for non-C.U. and some CU students.
