Why is LPU not AICTE approved?

Lovely Professional University (LPU), Jalandhar is recognised by UGC (University Grant Commission). As per law, UGC recognised universities don't require approval from AICTE to run its courses. It's the institutes which are affiliated to universities needs AICTE approval. As LPU is a Bonafide University established by a State Act, it does not require AICTE approval. Lovely Professional University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), a statutory body of the Government of India established for the coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of university education in India. Lovely Professional University is included in the list of universities maintained by University Grants Commission under Section - 2 (f) of the UGC Act, 1956. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has given the university an “A+” grade. LPU received a score of 3.68 scores on 4 point scale.

Dear, Lovely Professional University(LPU) is approved by University Grant Commission(UGC) and LPU is private universityonly public university require AICE approval. Even, Lovely professional University(LPU) receives highest grade NAAC A++ with 3.68 score on 4 point scale which is hihgest accrediation among all govt and private universities.

Hello, well Public universities require AICTE approval,LPU is a private universities and these universities require UGC approval and LPU is UGC UGC-approved university. Additionally, LPU is accredited by NAAC, recently It got a NAAC A++ rating which is highly commendable.

AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education) recognition is required for colleges. LPU being an university doesn’t need it and moreover LPU is UGC (University Grants commission) accredited which fulfil the requirement.

There is no need of AICTE, if university have UGC approval, a statutory body of India. So, in this situation university does not required AICTE approval. In future they can apply for the approval of AICTE just to add on one more to the row. In actual scenario colleges need compulsorily AICTE approval. University does not need compulsorily the approval of AICTE so in this situation student doesn't need to worry. Hope this is helpful.

As per my knowledge, Lovely Professional University does not require an AICTE approval since it is already approved by UGC, a statutory body of the Government of India. This is because universities do not require AICTE approval compulsorily. They might apply for approval from AICTE just to add another feather to their cap. It is the colleges which require compulsory AICTE approval, so if you are directly studying at the university you do not need to worry. LPU is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and the Council of Architecture (COA) and approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). Hello there, I think for LPU there’s no need for AICTE approval. as LPU is already approved by so many organizations and also from UGC, LPU is already approved by endless organizations and many tie-ups even with foreign universities and organizations. Also, AICTE approval is not required for a university to run a course in technical education as has been held by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in its judgment CWP2056 of 1999 titled BHARATHIDASAN UNIVERSITY & ANR. V/S ALL INDIA COUNCIL FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION & ORS, and various other cases. besides that LPU has tie-ups and Centres of Excellence: with Google, SAP Labs, Oracle, Intel, Texas Instruments, Bentley, CISCO. It is not important for any of the above universities to take Accreditation of AICTE. I’m a pass out from LPU and have profoundly utilized my time here in shaping my personality along with self-analysis. Unlike other universities, rules and regulations are quite strict here. From academics to extra-curricular activities, thorough support is given by our mentors/seniors, professors and management. As per my knowledge, Lovely Professional University does not require an AICTE approval since it is already approved by UGC, a statutory body of the Government of India. This is because universities do not require AICTE approval compulsorily. They might apply for approval from AICTE just to add another feather to their cap. Dear Ashish, That is because AICTE is not the right regulatory body for Universities. Since LPU is a private university set up u/s 2f of UGC act, It is regulated by Universities Grants Commission. The AICTE is a body which regulates the colleges which then seek affiliation fro any university. It is mandatory for universities to be recognised and approved by the UGC (University Grants Commission). Hence, they do not require the AICTE's approval to run their courses by law. LPU has been approved by the UGC and therefore, it does not need to be approved by the AICTE to teach engineering courses. As LPU (Lovely Professional University) is a bonafide university that was established by a State Act, it does not require the approval of the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education).
