Eligibility and Entrance Exam:

Diploma in Hotel Management:

  • Student can pursue Diploma in Hotel Management after passing class 10 exams.
  • Some of the state-level colleges will provide admission in diploma programmes on the basis of marks scored in state-level diploma entrance exams.

Undergraduate Courses:

  • In order to pursue undergraduate programmes in Hotel Management, candidates must have passed class 12 with 50% aggregate marks.
  • For BHM programme, you will also be required to clear entrance exams like NCHMCT JEE.

Salary Scope:

Salary may vary from sector to sector. Generally, jobs in the shipping and aviation sector offer the best salary packages as both the profiles require hectic travelling. Working with five-star hotels can also provide you with a good salary. Starting salaries offered by five-star hotels will vary from Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000 for fresher candidates.

However, a good amount of experience or internship is required to get a job at five-star hotels. After gaining experience, you can get a salary of up to Rs. 45,000. With quality education and experience, you can make a good career for yourself in the Hospitality industry.

Dear Aspirant, These are the basic courses under Hotel Management: 1) Bsc Hotel Management. 3 years. 2) Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology. 4 years. 3) Bsc (Airlines, Tourism and Hospitality) 3 years. 4) Diploma in Airline Cabin Crew and Hospitality. 1 Year All the degrees are having their own genre and forte. If you want to pursue the career in the Commercial Aviation Industry then Degree in Airlines is the good Options. On the other hand, Hospitality Industry is genre where i never found downfall rather now a days, especially in developing countries, it is growing like anything. I would like to tell you that degree in airlines are generally of 3 years duration whereas Hotel Management degree is most likely of 3 years and 4 years duration both. Although Hotel Management degree have the longest gestation period among the two but Hotel Management degree paves a way for you in both the Industries Aviation and Hospitality Industry as well. In India, I must say LPU is might be as good as IHM's in North India. And yes LPU do offer Bachelors degree in Hospitality and Airline Tourism. Placements are very good in it, salary packages are very good. In fact I have heard few overseas placements also.
