As a passout of LPU Mechanical Engineering I had multiple opportunities to hop in the School of Civil Engineering which was adjacent to our school and due to many events played together I had few friends in civil engineering too who are well placed in overseas construction company. Being an alumni of LPU I believe that I can answer query properly. LPU is one of the finest universities in India. The dept. of Civil Engineering offers very dynamic study content. It not only focuses on teaching concepts of civil engineering but also lays stress on practical application of the principles and theories. Being more interested in structural engineering I personally found the content of courses like, Design of Structures, Bridge design, Fluid mechanics designed in such an interesting way that you hardly find any other university working on syllabus enhancement to such an extent as LPU does. • The dept. of civil engineering has all the required labs with up to date machinery and modern equipment. They also have NABL-accredited lab for mechanical testing of building materials which makes LPU the only private university in India and first university in Punjab to receive this accreditation. • Their curriculum for civil engineering is revised every year by leading professionals in the field of construction industry and the students represent LPU at various national and international level competitions for civil engineering. • Their placements are also at par with the demand in industry.
