Pilot course cost : I wanna be a Pilot, so what should I do after my +2? How could I apply for that and what would be its cost and which institutes are the best?

Dear student, 

Happy new year! Wanting to be a Pilot is a good choice. Not only is it adventurous, but it is a lucrative career prospect as well. There are 3 levels of a Pilot Training:

  • SPL: Student Pilot License
  • PPL: Private Pilot License (you can get this after 60 hours of flying (with trainer and individual flying)
  • CPL: Commercial Pilot License can be obtained by 190 hours of flying 

Eligibility Criteria to become a Pilot:

  • Class 12 pass from a recognised Board with Maths, Physics & Chemistry as main subjects
  • Minimum 50% marks in Class 12
  • Top physical health - especially eyesight (6 by 6 vision)
  • Minimum 17 years of age

Selection Process:

  • You will need to perform well in the entrance exam conducted by the college
  • If you are interested in joining the Armed Forces, then you will need to give the AFCAT exam

Fees for Pilot Course:

While the fee varies from college to college, the average fee to complete a 15 - 18 months pilot training course will be around Rs. 20 - Rs. 40 Lakhs. This amount will include course fee, living expenses etc.
